We clearly see in these lyrics that her being away is causing her to live a different lifestyle than the one she once lived. Christian life vs. Hollywood life. She once was a Christian & recorded a Christian album before becoming famous. Hollywood, of course, would want her to say this song is just about her mom, but u can hear her crying out here and in her song "Who Am I Living For?"

i do not think this song is about god. I think it is about partying and going along with the crowd. face down in the porcelin means she is vomiting from drinking and another night i have waited for someone to take me home means she is drunk and needs a ride. This song is more about feeling lost in an addiction or party type of way.
