God bless her for accepting the situation and running with it. I recently watched a fascinating documentary on Katy's Super Bowl Halftime Show and I was stunned at all the work of literally hundreds of people both onstage and off....The public's obsession with that poor shark must have been a disappointment; even today, if you ask someone whether they'd seen Katy Perry's Super Bowl show, I guarantee you nine out of ten people instantly think of that shark and not the other jaw-dropping elements of the show that everyone involved with worked so hard for. (Interestingly, Katy warns everybody else before the show that those two sharks would be getting so much love from the fans). Katy knew that to play into the absurdity of it all is truly the only way for her to reclaim the spotlight.
