This is why i try and stay away from comments on these videos. Always see people from Cali or Florida or that support them talking trash on Texas highschool football. Get over yourselves already. Having the same private schools dominate your state isn't that impressive. While you could say Martei Dei and all that are better, of course they are. D1 talent at pretty much every position, great facilities, year round practices, etc. Is it no wonder they have the edge? hell isn't Martei Dei's QB 19 or something and he's only a Jr? If you all want to have some friendly banter, that's fine. But just talking straight trash, just reveals the ignorance. Not saying the kids at those schools don't work hard either, cause they do. I have a great respect for football in other states, especially Florida, California, Georgia and Oklahoma. But knock it off with the trash talk.

LMAO! This is coming from a Cali dude that knows all about Mater Dei. Mater Dei's QB is a hold back but he is only 17, he was born in 2000. So when he graduates he will be 18 and turn 19 before entering college so he's not that old. I coached against him since he was 10 and he was held back in the 8th grade even though he was the #1 ranked pop warner player in the country. To compare MD to public schools is not fair because everything you explained. TBH I wasn't impressed with Allen but I am with Katy. I usually look at schemes. Katy was well balanced, run and pass. I do ride for Cali but i'm more on the coaching aspect. I'm tired of seeing Texas and Florida coaches put their best athlete at QB and let him run around and make plays. I like seeing kids developed. Shit I know Leroy from down the street runs a 4.3 but he doesn't have to run jet sweep or hitch passes all the damn time. Katy's coaching schemes impressed me. I usually only get upset when I hear nonsense of someone saying MD would get smoked by this or that team from Texas really with 25 to 30 D1 players on a well coached team come on.

I covered this game. I tend to ignore rankings, whether state or national, because you can't compare the quality of 2 teams in Texas versus 2 teams from another state.

What people don't understand is talent isn't the main thing that is the reason texas football is better. It's better because of those small towns where everyone in the town is at the game. I can guarantee you those small town powerhouses in Florida and Cali that not everyone is there.

I always wondered why people tend to believe that Cali football is better I just seen a game with the number 1 recruit in the country against the number one LB in the nation ( who verbally to TEXAS ) both from Cali and the game were to decide the winner of I guess there distract not sure their league pairings and classifications are rather different then most places but the thing that caught my attention is that the school's stadiums are about the size of a Pop Warner field this video goes to show you that it's much more intense and serious out here when our kids get to play in NRG or Jerry's World pro Stadiums and not just for state finals but we have in our pro Stadiums for non district games cause the crowds are going to be so large one of my best memories of playing this game we love was playing Katy in the old Houston Astrodome back in 94' only a few weeks after beating North Shore to win district 22-5A back when Football was Football lol

OSnowFox personally I think Katy's running game would give them the edge. You look at Cali teams they like their spread offenses they don't like getting physical at the line especially having to tackle a runningback like Glass. But I guess we'd never know until we saw it
