One of the best things I did recently was put the toaster in a cabinet and pull it out when we need it. Had to simply declutter and reorganize that one space. Makes such a difference! Really enjoy your content!

Our toaster is used several times a day. Several people use it at different times. I just keep a pretty cover on it. We have such a tiny kitchen---not enough counter or cabinet space.

I'm a visual person. If I put a toaster in a cabinet or tools in a cabinet it would be like I didnt have them to use. I have taken doors off put shelves in and moved my toaster oven up on a shelf, knife block too, but my tools and instant pot stay on the counter.

I’M much happier now and more functional. Clutter attracts more clutter. Love people use things. Also my cats have learned to put their toys in the basket. I was raised in a family with two disabled parents. My mom is completely blind, so we had a house where clutter was the enemy. My mom had to be able to cook, clean, get around the house…etc, so we didn’t keep things out, and our house was organized because of necessity…a blind woman can’t go looking for something out of place. Then fifteen years ago, I married my husband. He loves having his stuff on the counters. Our house isn’t nasty, but we definitely have items on the counter that I wish I could shove into a cupboard.😬😂

Trust Me when I say I feel as if I’m in a store, sale rack. How would you suggest approaching somebody is a stuck in their ways I haven’t even talk the way he likes to get
@username000092 жыл бұрын
When you say you had no idea what you were in for, I imagine you’re saying you moved in with him only to find out about his messy habits. If that’s the case, you’re in a tough position. Cass the ClutterBug has great tips about how a person’s organizing needs vary based on whether they need visual systems and how much patience they have for either putting things away or finding things. It sounds like your boyfriend needs hooks rather than closed storage, but he also just sounds lazy or disrespectful.

I have never put anything on my fridge - it's not a bulletin board, and I don't want the visual clutter it would create. Don't believe it's clutter? Check out any HGTV program - there is NEVER anything posted on the fridge (or the dishwasher). BTW, I put a bulletin board in my laundry room/mudroom for the kids' artwork. One week max to display something and then it gets mailed to one of the grandparents or aunts as a "gift".

I’m not really messy. And I’ve been reducing my decor. I’ve been decluttering my cabinets and closets. Omg! It’s stressful to think about the dishes and decor in there. So I’ve decided to give it away. I have bins in the garage too. I’m letting go of furniture too on Market place. But my husband won’t let me get rid of a round kitchen table in my living room. I hate it!!! I don’t need a second table. Doesn’t even have chairs. How do I get him to let it go? It’s a nice market tree table from Widdicomb furniture. He worked there 43 years ago. Not my style. In the way. I honestly hate it. I’ve tried everything to try and make it look good. I put 2 extra chairs by it. My husband puts his daily crap on it. Like his glasses, wallet and head phones a camera. It’s just a huge catch all. I need help with this one. What can I do to convince him it’s gotta go. Also, I have a console table one foot away from it. HELP!!
@username000092 жыл бұрын
What about setting the table as if you are getting ready to have a fancy dinner, even if you never plan to eat at it? I’m talking tablecloth, placemats, plates, etc. if it’s set, maybe your husband won’t put his crap on it. You’d still have to change it up regularly to keep it looking fresh enough that he wouldn’t put things on it, but I’d say it would be worth it. Another option is to tell your husband about a problem you’re having being able to maneuver in that space - getting access to things in the console table, dusting the console table, etc. Ask him if he has any ideas on what you can do.

I am a person who has zero tolerance with clutters. Watching your video now makes me think your background looks a bit overflowing, I guess it’s because of many lines. Your mirror has lines, chairs have lines, and lights above your kitchen table, those lines are mixed with your curtains prints patterns… I must be crazy…

@@Isabella66Gracen Maybe, but I don’t really have repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Honestly,when I said I must be crazy , I was actually suggesting her that her background is quite messy because of many lines, sometimes people don’t understand why they’re house are clean and tidy, but still looks messy. I should have said she did a good job but be aware of lines and patterns that make visual clutters.
