Gift III is usually the dish that's hated and characters find it tasting like shit. If he's taking it home for Kaveh, then he's taking him a taste-like-shit takeaway. I'm not sure why people keep insisting on the romance between those two but that definitely doesn't look very romantic to me. This is more like a typical friend-turned-foe dynamic, literally.

This ship definitely isn’t for everyone. But about the food thing, Alhaitham hates soup while Kaveh loves it (which is shown in their voicelines about food.) Giving a soup dish to Alhaitham triggers the third voiceline, so I find it kinda cute that he’s taking Kaveh’s favorite food home for him.

I've done a lot of thinking on it because character analysis is a skill and hobby of mine, and I've come to some conclusions. Kaveh and Alhaitham love and cherish each other (whether platonically or romantically doesn't matter, they simply do) even though they have their disagreements in philosophy, motivations, and beliefs. Alhaitham is a truly and deeply caring individual, despite his sometimes harsh words and rigidity. Kaveh is intrinsically emotional and has a romantic personality. Alhaitham is driven by logic, and Kaveh is driven by emotion. It's by Alhaitham's logic and reasoning that the actions of others are outside of one's control and shouldn't be dwelt upon because they are fundamentally those other people's problems or beliefs. Kaveh, on the other hand, believes, truly and deeply, that one should have faith and believe in others regardless, and it is simply environmental factors at play, not people's motivations. Where Alhaitham sees Kaveh as tying his self-esteem to his talents and achievements as an architect, Kaveh sees it as a fundamental duty that comes with his trade. Alhaitham understands this tendency of Kaveh as a potentially dangerous self-fulfilling cycle because it's has happened. Meanwhile, Kaveh believes it's his own personal failings in his talents as an architect and wanting for perfection, no matter the cost. Kaveh doesn't see the risk and danger he puts himself into, and has already, in his endeavors and goals - but Alhaitham has and continues to do so. Alhaitham can't understand the tireless battle Kaveh combats because logically the problem is simple, but fundamentally emotional and personal. They're each other's complimentary half, in ideals, beliefs, and motivations. And I love them.
