Always felt the sx-240 sounded like a cross between an organ synth and a string synth. Love it.

@ConnorMcLeanMusic: Retrosound72 is like a cosmetic surgeon. Jexus is a neuroscientist for synthesizers. He turns synthesizers inside out, elicits their true potential and pushes their envelope, literally. If Jexus can't make a synth sound interesting then this machine isn't worth a penny.

I have a broken SX-240 that I've been trying to fix for quite some time. At least the new wood sides I made for it work! lol But seriously, this video was the kick in the ass that made me finally take it in to a pro for repairs. Fingers crossed!

Like 5 years ago there were half a dozen of these on ebay going for dirt cheap. I put off buying one, and now I haven't seen a single one up in the past 2 years, and the last few I did see on there were in the Juno-60 price range. *Sigh* missed opportunities...

@goldenroland i have read that you can send a omni off message to the sx240 from a sequencer and then it will only receive on channel one. i own a sx240 and i have never bothered with it. its just not needed for my workflow but i can see how it would be good to be able to do that. sx240 is a great synth. i mean one of my favorites.

@Eyepatchfilms8 жыл бұрын
Been fixing up one of these. Cleaned up the remaining battery acid, fixed all the switches, cleaned the whole thing thoroughly. What a beast of a synth. I have a ton of others, but this one is instantly that good 80's sound. Way better than a K3. Better than all the roland dcos. Build two patches and layer them with alternate LFO rates. Layer an ensemble-on patch with another with it off and get an amazing 3D stereo patch. Fantastic machine.

@spontaneous09 I prefer the SX-240 by a nose to my Juno 106, although I've only owned the SX-240 for about a week, it is DEMONIC!!! So fun to punch in custom sounds... = The layout is 1000% better than the Alpha Juno or JX-8p/JX-10 system. Great to split and layer... If it had an Arpeggiator instead of that wussy sequencer it would also exceed the Juno 60 and Poly SIX. This things sounds like a Witch!!!
