Thank you for sharing this video..I have never been a big fan of marmosets (as she said below, I really dont think they are cute at all when they mature) but these two little ones actually melted me just a little....
@shannonspage93602 жыл бұрын
Hopefully these were captive bred babies and not removed from their wild parents and habitat. Marmosets come from south and Central America.

Some people in the comment gallery are complaining saying that these primates are an endangered species. But their biggest threat is deforestation of their native habitat. It's also best to keep them in suitable cages for their own personal safety. One professional breeder in the U.S. recommends that once out of the cage, they should always be kept on a lease and never be allowed to run freely in a house or apartment.
@pinkmonkeybird26445 жыл бұрын
You aren’t serious are you? You cannot be that ignorant. Marmosets and other primates aren’t domesticated and never will be, regardless if we tamed and bred dogs, cats and farm animals to be happy to live with humans. Their natures are simply incompatible with being domesticated. No primate should ever live its life confined to a cage and leash, that’s psychological torture to these highly intelligent animals. They stay with their mothers for years in the wild, they live in highly complex social groups and wander through extensive areas of land to eat. Speaking of which, marmosets have very specific dietary needs, as they are primarily gummivores but also require some meat and large quantities of natural sunlight, which they don’t get most of the time in captivity. Are you so naive to believe what a “professional breeder” tells you about a species?? Of course they’ll tell you to stuff it in a cage, force it into diapers, have all of its teeth extracted so it can’t bite, and keep it on a leash! It’s in their best interest to have people think their $3000 baby primate is going to love living that way. They’ll also tell you it’s best to separate the baby from its mother within a few days so that it’ll bond with you. They’ll even give you a stuffed animal for free as a surrogate mother so the poor creature can rock itself to sleep in its cage while you tell yourself it’s a happy monkey. All the while they’ve artificially stimulated the female monkey to breed again almost immediately so they can get another $3000 from another misguided person who thinks having a monkey is fun. Those same breeders won’t take the primate back when it hits sexual maturity and is no longer cute and compliant; they’ll tell you to beat it into submission or sell it to some sucker who can’t afford $3000 for a baby but just had to have one. Breeders are the last person you should turn to for advice. The only correct thing you’ve said is that deforestation is a major threat to many primate species. But the pet trade and poaching for bush meat have done incredible damage as well. If you love primates, volunteer at a sanctuary or reputable zoo, work to stop deforestation, and tell people not to buy primates at a pet store or a professional breeder.

their biggest threat is deforestation of their native habitat? no, definiteively not: the number one treat for animals like pangolin is not deforestation but trafficking, exactly like these animals. How can you humanley accept to see these animals in a too small cold cage without any respect for their needs, existing only to satisfy sellfishness loneliness and mood of those peoples?

+Jinger-Belle Pelham no, they are babies. probably a week or two old, just ripped from their tranquilized, limp mother's arms. go check out "adult marmoset" on google, these little bastards grow up to be HIDEOUSLY UGLY tree vermin. please don't support the exotic pet trade. even these repulsive, unattractive marmosets don't deserve to live their lives in a tiny cage dressed like a human baby for the amusement of some menopausal wench.

Aren't they an endangered species? What are they doing in cages? I know it says in the description something about being born in captivity, but still! None of these gorgeous animals should be in cages (-_- )

Listening to their cute little chirps and seeing their scared eyes I'm literally tearing up right now it's so wrong to have them as pets. And they do not make good pets. I'm so sad to see this. They should be in their natural habitat.... They don't look happy at all

They say cute, but never say that 8 of 10 will die before arriving to their cold cage, far from their forest, the world must fight against these traffic and all these irresponsible laws that protect these peoples. The nature doesnt belongs to who have money, and these animals are not responsible of people's loneliness or social pressure that make peoples feelign they need tenderness. @Jesse Dawnchen

In just the span of 1 minute I went on an emotional rollercoaster. At first I was filled with happiness and audibly saying "Awwww!" overwhelmed by their cuteness. But then I felt sad for those poor little babies that should be with their mommy in their natural habitat and not locked up in a tiny cage. When the dogs started barking I was instantly enraged that those sweet, defenseless creatures must be so scared and stressed out. They are incredibly adorable and my initial reaction was I want them too. But they are not domesticated like cats and dogs and the exotic pet trade MUST be stopped!!!
