Great to see you working on a 125 again! Thanks to your brilliant videos I bought a 2015 Zontes Tiger. It had Keeway Superlight wheels and forks and excellent tyres. They had disconnected some emission setting so it would do 72mph (actual on my phone GPS app) and 120 mpg.I fitted flat Renthal bars that transformed the handling to another level. Sadly one day after a year's excellent running the gearbox went clunk and wouldn't go into second gear. The bike was £220 spares and repair with no MOT ( but came with an expensive chain and padlock as well as a cover and disk alarm lock). Your instruction videos allowed me to repair it and get it through the MOT and run around for twelve months. About two weeks before the MOT renewal date I had the gearbox disaster! I know nothing about gearboxes and the local garage suggested it would be an expensive exercise to fix it - if parts could even be found. If only I lived near you and your mechanical genius! Good luck with the Kawasaki. I really look forward to see you save another bike.

Mechanical genius? Wow, not sure about that. Anyway, you gearbox is knackered so what you got to lose? Pull it apart and see what you can see, you might not be able to fix it but you will be no worse off and you will learn plenty. Good luck with it.

congrats on new purchase, not my cup of tea but it will tidy up pretty well. price in that condition I would guess no more than £250, doing it up, unless you intend to keep it a full on resto is pointless, strip it down a bit get it running, tidy it up and tested then sell it on to a learner for a small profit.
@motorcyclejunkie7564Ай бұрын
You are pretty close on price, agree full restoration is not the way to go.

if you haven't found the issue by now, I had a similar blowing of main fuse on another bike and it was the starter solenonoid was connected + to - so the wires needed to be switched over, caused by someone connecting the wrong colour cables part way down the wiring and taping over them

Ok, non running, from a family/ friend, with paperwork, I’d say $ 1000. But a descent looking project. Good luck and fun future viewings. Thanks.

A rant...Not my style of bike, but really annoys me when they stick a small engine in bikes like this. If I did like it, I'd be hard pushed to buy one with a 250cc engine in it! A 400cc yes. Can't stand modern bikes, there's nothing out the for me since mid 2000's. I would buy something like a Honda CD twin, they make 2, but 50cc and 70cc is a joke! Just want something simple, reliable, fairly priced that's made in Japan. I don't see anything! I get that fuel injection was a good thing, but all the other rubbish they add on is only to keep bureaucrats happy! Those add-ons should only be on top end sports bikes, or the higher cc sports bike where it's deemed 'the idiots will buy these'
@motorcyclejunkie7564Ай бұрын
Rant away mate, no issue here. I kind of see your point but learners are limited to 125cc and power output, 12bhp is it? Not sure. The manufacturers are just trying to give young bikers a "big bike" experience within the confines of the learner laws. When I was young you could ride a 250cc of any power on L plates with zero training, teens were dying on them so the law (which I agree with) needed to change.

The joke was Karl Bloke walked into the chemist and asked for deodorant, chemist asked aerosol or ball Neither i want it for under my arms 😂😂 Knowing how tight you are mate if you didn't get it for free nothing over £300 Kawasaki wheels even in that state are miles better than new Chinese shite wheels 😉
