I needed to see a clip of how to get the carbs off... manifolds & airbox rubbers are rock hard...

Hi. Don't pull... push down and twist. Should make it easier.
@jimmysparks3153 жыл бұрын
@@Maraggie Would you push front down first ?.... maybe use a big plastic dead hammer ? .... plus I've only got one hand... Also had a GPZ750 same issue... they were a mission to get off. (I will get another set of hands to help me put them back on) ......Was able to purchase new or reproduction manifolds & airbox rubbers for the GPZ... not so for the GPX.....

@@Maraggie I've also heard soaking rubbers in warm/hot oil for a few hours softens them up ?

When I have that issue (old hard rubbers), after undoing the retaining clips, I push the carbs down and out so the top of the manifold comes out first. I would definitely look at getting new set of rubbers... otherwise it will be extremely hard to put the carbs back on. Also, yes, you can try to soak but I never tried it so can't comment on how well that works.

@@Maraggie Got them off... tried soaking them in warm/hot oil on the stove for 5 hours but didn't change a thing... gotta find new ones.

Great video! Are you still planning on making a video of the reassembly process? I have this bike and I'm planning on cleaning the carbs soon so that video would be very useful.

Hi Isaac. Yes I have one recorded, just didn't get around to processing and uploading it. Will do shortly.

I took out my gpx750r carbs but now i cant remember where those two lines coming from both carb sets ( a set being two carbs ) went to. im not talking about the fuel or vacuum line, i mean those lines in between the first and second carbs and third and fourth.

Hi. I sold my GPX now so can't have a look but I'm assuming these would be the overflow pipes. I'm not sure where these would go on a stock bike. Mine were just hanging loose.

@@Maraggie okay yeah that what i needed to know, I dont have to hook em up somewhere. I think they were just hanging loose before too.

hey, i have so many question about those sport filters, i just bought the same bike already having sport filters, int the long term process those the bike works fine, did u not install the old air box ? thank you for this videos, i guess u are the only one in the world who dropped a video about the carbs of the gpx750 :D

Hi. Yeah it's not a super popular bike. I never had the stock air box, always used pod filter. That's the only bike so far that I have booked for rolling road to get it dyno'ed properly. Never had any problems.... been to Holland, all over UK... it just goes :) Sold it now to make space for new projects.
