Kawasaki KLX250 big bore kit by AHL - comparison

This is a video made for those looking for more information about the AHL kits. Mostly just for comparison. I will upload rebuild videos as soon as I can. The cylinder in this video is for a 1996 KLX250.

Something I neglected to mention in this video is that the kit comes with a base gasket. It looks to be of very low quality. I'll be ordering an OEM gasket to use instead.

Holy crap. I can see down inside your cylinder. My KLX250 did the exact same thing. Wore through the nikasil and put a huge groove in it. What do you think caused that issue??? Plus I noticed your cylinder says 0.292L mine is a 0.249L.

mi klx 250 le puse el cilindro de 351 pero toco cambiarle los chicleres del carburador por unos más "grandes". pero no siento mucho el cambio solo q le bajó las revoluciones. significa q el torque esta a 4500 rpm más o menos

Hey thanks for the video. I just bought the ahl piston and cylinder for my klx 250. I also noticed the gaskets are pretty cheap. I also noticed that the head gasket blocked the coolant ports. Which head gasket did you use? Klx 300? From kawasaki or another aftermarket brand? And also what did you do with the jetting with the carburetor?

Hello. I'd like to buy one of this cylinder kits for my 300 in order to rebore and replate to fit 80 mm WISECO piston and Cometic gasket. Do you recommend this, or it's junk. I want to keep my stock cylinder in case I want to turn back. Thank you very much.

I bought this kit along with the AHL connecting rod and I dont recommend it.The rod is very low quality ,my mechanic had to drill the oil guide in the rod in order to get more oil quantity as it was insufficient and the plugs in the sides where badly pressed.The cylinder and piston were ok

I hope this is constructive criticism... why not publish the video after you have done the actual mod and provide dyno data, riding footage of both the stock condition and big bore condition? I think anyone watching this just wants to know if the kit is good or not and see a real comparison... peace.

Hi! I have been looking for CBR250r Intake Exhaust Valve to replace the original ones because I just broke them last week. I have been looking for the replacement on ebay or amazon but the only ones I can find is the AHL brand. I tried very hard to find any review about this brand but nothing is showing up. Can you please tell me your experience with this brand, it is a good option or it does not worth it?. Please let me know as soon as You can in order to ask for them, I will really appreciate it.

Diego Guzman Garcia, thanks for the message. In my opinion, the quality of the parts in this particular kit is sub-par. I only went with this option because the bike was free. However, if I paid for the bike, and planned on keeping it, I would've skipped this brand altogether. Hope that helps.

I already use it on my bike kawasaki 250sl but ive to change and modified some part like the tensioner. It run pretty well and doesn't disappoint me.
