The other dirt bike channels should take notice of this style of review. No annoying loud music added for 'excitement' , lots of helpful technical details and long terms durability infos discussed.

Glad to hear the kx450x did good for you guys also. My 2022 has been bullet proof, now i dont ride as fast or hard as you but have had no issues. I have had zero issues with the stock plasic either, been great and have not cracked, broke, chipped or anything. Think a leaky fork seal is literally the only thing i have had go wrong with it.

Thank you for your review. I have owned this bike (23' KX450X) since last April and have about 50 hours on it to date. I ride in Utah deserts most of the time in open faster terrain. In summer I ride 300XC for mountain trail riding and leave KX at home (450's heat up on slow high elevation riding). My main reason for buying is the discount and price they offered last spring compared to the other brands. However, I also own because it is stable and has predictable handling. My last bike was a 2016 KX450 and it was stable as well (120 hrs and no issues). Sure, other brands have some features that are better in some ways, but this bike is the best for the money and is very good in most areas. My gripes are: too small a tank for an "X" model, no spark arrestor, no O-ring chain, giant contankerous kick stand, and motorcross gear box should have taller 4th and 5th gears. My best upgrade has been to change rear shock spring for my fat butt. The rear spring change was the best thing I could have done. I have ridden many other bikes and may have gone Yamaha or KTM, but Kawi had best price. The mods I made were: IMS 2.5 gas tank (stronger than Acerbis for impacts), O-ring chain, fold away levers, larger titanium foot pegs, radiator braces, Acerbis skid (I like plastic ones vs. metal cuz they are quieter), Acerbis chain guide, mousse bibs front and rear, T-6 Pro Circuit Exhaust with sparky (pipe gives more torque down low, can ride gear taller through most corners). Forks could be more supple over small choppy bumps, rocks, and roots so I may have suspension revalved, though it works well across a broad range of riding so keeping it the same may be best? The Dunlop MX33 up front and MX34 in back are great! Love your channel and the way you guys do it!!

Hi if you put the 450x vs your 300xc side by side on a long stretch which one is faster?
@ryanoborn60211 ай бұрын
The 450 is, but not by much. When the terrain is tight and nasty the 300xc is simply easier and less tiring. I love them both for different reasons. The 300xc is better all around, but through medium to high speeds the 450 is better for me.

benefits over a yz450fx?

The overall ergonomics and chassis are more neutral and less "polarizing" than the YZ (though most riders can get very comfortable on the YZ with very minor changes/time spent on the bike). Check out our Modified 450 Shootout we did about two months back where we compare this KX to our Yamaha, Honda, and KTM bike builds.

Why a top end at 35 hrs on a 4 stroke? I ride 8 hrs every weekend! That would put me at a top end almost every month. Insanity!

Kawasaki did it as a precautionary, though it didn’t need it. After that, we went 50+ hours on the second top end with the motor still running strong

Same exact reliability has Honda or Yamaha?
@DirtBikeTest Жыл бұрын
As we said in the video, durability may be down just a couple percent from Yamaha and Honda, who are among the leaders in that realm. We have had zero failures with this bike, but we will say overall the chassis and everything feels a tad "loose" in comparison to our '23 CRF450RX which had a similar number hours on it - though the CRF chassis feels tighter in nature to begin with. But overall, the reliability with this bike wouldn't be a concerning factor when looking at purchasing a new bike.

Instead of testers doing it by year they should do it by bike generation. Bikes no longer change much from year to year so by doing it by generation it applies to more people and you have more time to test the bike.

We performed this on a 2023, but this applies to the 2019-2023 KX450/KX450X generation.
