Stop holding back for the video I know you go wide open when the camera isn't on. Pro-tips: -You don't need brakes -You can drop from 5th gear wide open to 3rd for hairpins. Let the back wheels drag for a moment then set for apex then get back wide open on the gas. Up shift just before apex to 4th gear to get them spinning again then straight away to 5th at apex for exit. -You can outrun anything else in the woods because you're more nimble -Keep the rear suspension a bit soft for better trail riding. I stiffened up one of ours and it was never as good as the one I kept soft -Depending on where you live changing the jetting on the carb will give a bit more top end speed -You can use the cage around the foot pegs for more leverage in tighter corners, hook the heel of your boot into the cage. -It's impossible to damage this engine feel free to keep it at the stutter box all day -There is absolutely no reason to do mods or engine work on these. They are set-up perfectly for hard/fast trail riding stock. Both of mine are bone stock and no one has ever been able to outrun me during serious riding outside of drag racing in open fields -Loosen up the bolts holding the handle bars in the rings. This way when you roll it over you won't ruin the bars they'll collapse on to the gas tank. May need hammer or something to get them back into place depending on how hard they hit. Trust me on the last one. I did a power slide one day and ended up going 50mph backwards in 5th gear with the gas pegged and the tires spinning the wrong direction. When they finally caught grip it tossed me a good 40 yards through the air. Which leads me to my last pro tip. -Don't be afraid to bail out when the situation calls for it. I put a 96 model halfway up a tree one day in the woods. Still runs. It was my father's. We had two of these. I had 100 acres of fields and 150 acres of private woods to ride on. We cut tons of trails through it. Miles of my own private "road course" with trees inches away on either side. His was a white 96 model and mine was a green 2001. I abused the fuck out of both of them. Rode them hard everyday for years after school. Both are still running. Only have minor plastic damage. Original engines. Mine doesn't have front brakes anymore. I burned them off within 6 months then got yelled at for using them. So I learned how to ride without them. Dad was right it's faster not to use the brakes. All you need is down shifting+engine braking. If I had a time machine I'd go back to 2001-2003 when I used to spend every weekend chasing my Dad through the woods. At some point I got faster than him. I was pushing him hard and ended up bending the rear axle over when I hit a tree. He had time to correct for it and I didn't. He would never ride with me again after that. Was scared we'd get hurt. I got hurt pretty badly. I suffered major concussion and spent 2 hours asking everyone "what happened?". Came to in the CT scanner at the hospital and freaked out because I thought I was being abducted by aliens. Really miss riding with the old man. He did motorcross for years before I came along. Stopped because he was afraid he'd get hurt and wouldn't be able to support us. Passed on everything he knew to me before I turned 14. When I turned 18 I got my driver's license and stopped riding as much. Got interested in cars and pavement and did that for years until I finally grew out of risking my life every night on backroads. I might have suffered 4 concussions learning these lessons. Always wear a helmet. Nice video. This machine needs more love. It's the AE86 of the woods. Have fun! Be Safe! Good to see someone that loves these enough to make a video. I wish we had gopros when I was a kid. Please enjoy your youth. It doesn't last as long as you think it will. Everyday is a blessing. Sorry for long rant. This video brought back a lot of good memories

Yoooo that atv is a monster, i absolutely love it. I replaced mine's engine with a 400cc honda, but it got to powerful to ride... kinda dangerous. I haven't got it to the woods yet...

Cool vid but riding way too slow. Riding it like it's a modded banshee. Trust the quad, they're slow anyway, just pin it. Lol
