I actually sold the bike a few weeks ago. So I'm not able to make anymore videos on it. However, if you watch the Power Commander V install, you can see how to get the plugs. They are right next to the fuel injectors. You'll need a socket wrench and an extension to get them out.

I herd theres walls in the airbox you can cut out for better flow. Any thoughts?
@Jodyrides3 жыл бұрын
cutting holes in the airbox is risky. The airflow through an airbox is a detail worked out by engineers. The science involved is the same science basics that design airplane wings. There is a free lunch to be had with an effect called velocity stack effect... I clearly remember a modification company that does head work to improve airflow telling a friend of mine that had head port work done by them, they told him to run the stock airbox, they told him if he does not use the stock airbox, he will lose about 5 to 6 hp in the mid range.. that was on a 1000 cc motor.. Another factor to be considered is, your ninja has fuel injection. That means you have an airflow sensor/And an oxygen sensor. I can’t see how the airflow sensor would function/get the correct readings if you allow air to bypass the sensor
@JB-zx2py3 жыл бұрын
@@Jodyrides some guys did it to their bikes in my town and it greatly improved proformance. Only issue with letting more air in us properly adjusting your fule map. This is easily done with a power commander or a ecu flash kit. More air and more fule = more power

@@JB-zx2py jody here. I believe that your friends believe that their machines run better. Many times, friends are reluctant to admit they’ve made a mistake. they don’t want to make themselves look foolish. many times a loud exhaust system gives the impression that the machine is making more power because it’s making more sound. back when there was a free launch to be had with modifications, the modifications simply changed the RPM that the machine made the most horsepower, but there’s a lot of factors to consider, valve area, cam timing, even transmission ratios. If you make a machine have a more narrow power band, your transmission ratios miss being in the sweet spot of the RPM when you upshift to the next gear. All those factors are considered by the factory when they designed the engine/transmission. I have worked in several motorcycle shops. When a customer would buy a brand new machine, and a few months later,they insisted that they had aftermarket muffler‘s, or exhaust systems installed on their bike by our service dept, we actually had them sign a document, that they were made aware that the machine will not run the way it was intended by the factory with these modifications.. they would sign the document, we would do the work, putting in jet kits, or power commanders, and aftermarket slip on mufflers, and they would pick their bikes up, and they would return within a week sometimes complaining that the bike was backfiring, or it had a dead spot just off idle, or it would surge at highway cruising speed‘s, and we would not/could not return the machine back to stock, because some of the modifications were permanent, to things like air boxes, or carburetors, and we would end up losing that customer. if your friends think their bikes run better, that’s great.. I myself will never touch the fuel injection, or the exhaust, or the computer to make performance modifications. I put my money in better suspension better tires better brakes, better seat.. because. I learned decades ago that the factory knows more than I do.. I also learned years ago, that the younger you are, the more you know, the older you get, the more you realize you don’t know anything

Removing the emissions plate does what for it?
@InfamousInternetVillainJackSix5 жыл бұрын
If you are using your motorcycle on a closed course (racing, track days, etc.) you will want to remove all unnecessary equipment from your bike for reduced weight and ease of maintenance. You also want it to get an accurate Air:Fuel (A/F) ratio when dynoing the bike. The air injection system pumps fresh air directly into the exhaust stream in order to burn off any unused fuel. Unfortunately by doing this the A/F ratio is thrown off by the extra "fresh air" in the exhaust stream. By removing the air injection system you can achieve an accurate A/F ratio. It will also stop the majority of popping on deceleration that can be experienced with un-burnt gasses within the emission charcoal chamber, when using an aftermarket exhaust.
@wampaswomps39752 жыл бұрын
Does the block off plate get you any more than the 65mpg or just reduce the popping on deceleration?

I also bought the same filter you show in the video, and im going to install ir next week. My question is, do i need to modificated my ecu to get the best result of those modifications (full exhaust + high flow air filter ) ? Recently i tryed my bike on top speed and I realized it loss some power. Its right? Thanks for all
@NinjaZX6Rider3 жыл бұрын
To get the performance gain from the full exhaust, air cleaner, etc. You will need to find a shop that can flash your ECU. Really the only performance upgrade that you can do that will not cause your bike to lose power, is a slip on exhaust. When I say, lose power, I mean upgrading components without flashing the ECU. Right now, your bike doesn't know what to do, and to keep from damaging the engine, the computer has turned itself down. Also, with the added airflow, the bike will use more fuel do to the added airflow. Flashing the ECU, remaps the fuel and air ratio to give your bike optimum performance and get the most of your new parts.
