Dude, thank you for making a damn video with easy explanations that are 20 minutes long and filled with an ad every 5. A little tip though it’s recommended to take some of the old oil on your finger and rub it around the new oil filter rubber O-ring. This allows a tighter and more proper seal with the O-ring

Easiest oil filter wrench I found to use is the one that’s a round metal cap (65mm I think) that fits snug on bottom of oil filter and has a 3/8” square in the middle for a ratchet. I lube my chain the exact way you are but first I go for a 15 minute ride at 60mph. This heats the chain expanding the metal so the lube can really penetrate into the rollers. It doesn’t heat up enough just free spinning like that on a stand.
@PlaySA

It's also a good idea to ride before you change the oil, make sure any metal filings get moved around and the warm/hot oil will help clean the inside more throughly.

@@InfamousInternetVillainJackSix look just trying to help the new guy or girl out, the filter is dry when you install it, I'm not going to right a page of reasoning on why just look it up its not a big deal you don't have to pre fill its def good to do wile it's off and the gasket can dry rot and dose not hurt to pre lube wile you have it off rubber can dry rot over time, up to the person if they want a dry gasket or a lubed one Id rather have it lubed then dry.

One reason I hear to was that the old oil that is left in the bottom of the pan can get pushed into the new filter and get soaked with old oil don't know how true it is, to be safe I always pre fill with fresh oil.
@Matthew-yq6ho
@Matthew-yq6ho Жыл бұрын
And it's also really important to do this on a filter for a car or truck since the oil gets pumped throu the filter and if the filter is dry then for a few seconds the pump is running dry and it can burn it up look it up on GK7 DIY KZbin channel type in here's why you need to pre fill your oil filter when doing an oil change, it's a good habit to form

Thank you for the videos! Do you know how to service/replace the air filter?
@MotoJournoKris
@MotoJournoKris 5 жыл бұрын
It's super easy, remove the pillion seat and rider seat. Then the black raw plastic panels under the tank. Loosen the bolts at the top of the fairings, that connect to or are near the tank. Also remove the two bolts at the rear of the tank. Remove the two rubber hoses on the LH side, and slightly lift the tank to disconnect the fuel line (use a rag to catch any leakage) and fuel pump connector. Lift the tank back towards the tail and then up gently and set it somewhere safely. Then just undo all the screws on the top of the airbox, pop it open and it's a single screw holding the old air filter in place. Repeat in reverse and you're sorted.

@@InfamousInternetVillainJackSix Spraying the chain with water achieves nothing - its as if saying you are cleaning the chain by riding in the rain. What is important is to actually wipe the chain clean after spraying it with cleaner with a shop towel or cloth and get all the grime out of it. Basically its a repeating process - you clean it, you grease it, dirt starts sticking to the grease, the grease dries, you grease it again, dirt sticks, and finally you need to clean and wipe all the grease / dirt off and start over.

@InfamousInternetVillainJackSix
@InfamousInternetVillainJackSix 5 жыл бұрын
It isn't going to rust between the time you wash it off to the time you re-lube it, and your chain is exposed to water in the rain anyway. So it isn't going to hurt anything. Also, WD-40 isn't a cleaning solvent. It's a penetrating oil. So it isn't going to clean the existing lube off. it's just going to add lube on top of it.

Seriously though. Dig the way this one was put together. I can see you're getting better at some narrative things.

I'm at 1200 miles on my new ninja400 I got about 2 or 3 months ago and I'm wondering should I change the oil on it now or wait because I live in colorado and riding season is over in about 1 or two more months, could I wait?

Canadian? once American? can't tell. you just sound like a Canadian that knows all accents and ignores all of them but doesn't speak proper English either XD could also be cuz its a voice over and you can pick or re-say something lol but ya Canadian?????

All of my voiceovers are single take, unscripted. I do edit them, but rarely ever re-record a segment. I've lived in Texas my entire life, but I have done a lot of traveling both nationally and internationally and consider myself an extremely open minded person. I sort of rejected my southern accent early on and did my best to correct it, but these days I honestly don't care anymore. I sort of just have my own language and accent. It isn't really southern anymore, but I'm not sure what else you would call it. Edit: I do find myself befriending Canadians pretty often though and Louisiana is pretty close to home, so maybe there's some French twang in there that I've subconsciously adopted over the years.
