If you’d have taken the little yellow plug out of your oil catcher whist your oil ran into the container it would have gone in without blowing air out and bubbling out of the large hole

I have a 2018 Kawasaki H2 sx se with the full Vandemon H2R style exhaust, stage 2 supercharger gears, intercooler, blow off valve, clutch springs, H2R spark plugs, flash and tuned at 271.11 hp . I have a 2021 H2 carbon edition being delivered this week coming up. These bikes are amazing. My bike sounds just like your bike only louder as I have removed my baffle . Beautiful bike.

Mighty nice! It's obvious that you know your way around the engine and the mechanics of the bike. Having the right gear, and the right place to do it in, makes it a lot easier. Oh, and the way to keep air out of the brake system is golden! Saves loads of time. Growing up me and my dad always needed to do maintenance of the cars outside the garage or some such. (Garage was filled with tyres, tools, rims etc. so no place left.)

Like the digital torque monitor. And the syringe on the brake bleeder. As to the clutch and springs, you have a slipper clutch there with ramps to prevent it slipping, and only 3 springs because of the ramps, which reduces the pull force required to operate the lever. But with shovels for hands I suppose it’s not a problem for you. Where is the Ducati!
@mrcintheuk5596

Glad I've never bought a specific oil change container! 😁. Good tip on using the syringe 💉 to create suction when changing brake pads and bleeding the fluid. 👍
@johnmclean4911
@johnmclean4911 Жыл бұрын
You don't need a syringe to change your brake pads. When you push the pistons in to the calipers the brake fluid just goes back up to the master cylinder on the handle bars. The syringe thing is just given you more work as far as I can see. But hay everyone to there own thing here. But I was really surprised how thin the oil was it looked more like engine coolent than oil. 😳

You’re supposed to take the yellow cap off your oil catching super container. Let’s air out as oil goes in the bigger hole, so you don’t get burps of back farts of oil from the big hole. Div! 🥲

@@LambChopRides These things are a great idea, I know, I had one. But you still end up cleaning the outside of the oil catcher, AND you still don’t avoid splashing the garage floor as you proved. Big old bath towel on the floor under a cut-out old oil can, as you suggested. Drain into the emptied “new” oil can for disposal. Keep it all together in a big old carrier bag or bin bag for next time. Just don’t forget where you put it, Sometimes I stare at my garage shelves for twenty minutes before I remember what I put something away in.

Other reason to warm the oil is to stir up all the little bits of crap, they settle if the bike is cold. They stay suspended in the oil for a while when it's warm, so you heat the oil, stir up the crap, and then the crap comes out with the drain.

Paul Tanton I was thinking more along the lines of that draining oil over night would drain oil of of the oil pump and galleries and it would take longer to build up oil pressure thus causing engine damage
@HalfdeadRider
@HalfdeadRider 3 жыл бұрын
That comment about the oil and not warming it as it will still be in the head 🤣🤣 that's why you leave it five minutes or so to drain to the sump, you will always get more out with it warm, quicker too. It's like those people who say fill the filter first, it will fill when the oil circulates anyway so that's pointless, just remember to recheck the level after running the bike a few minutes, and again after your first ride to be sure it's right.
