Thanks bro! Glad to help. It was funny how this came up. I wired my light kit to my running light in my brake light because of the parasitic draw issue. So i was starting to think it was a wiring mishap on my part because this issue came up around the same time or shortly after I did the job. So i grabbed my multimeter and started searching. Fortunately it was exactly what i thought. I was certain i read the wiring diagram correctly when i did my lights lol.

I have a 2017 zx10r. Super appreciate the video and believe I have the same issue. Ordered the switch from Amazon. Just wondering on the switch did you just pull it out with the pliers. Does the new switch just push/snap on then?

Hey! I love that year! Thanks for your question. Sorry if it wasn't super clear. At least on my year, at 1:04 I'm showing a nut I'm removing that holds it in place. There is a locator pin along with that nut if I remember right. I didn't record me putting it back in because it was just difficult to get a good angle on it for the camera where I could see it as well. Once you remove the switch, you will be able to see exactly how it goes back on. After you remove that nut and disconnect the wires that run to it, you can just pull it out. When putting it back, it's kind of a tight fit but not too difficult. I have a video showing me replacing a clutch switch on the ZX10R as well and the removal and replacement are shown better and it is somewhat similar to this brake switch. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to comment and I hope you found me & my video helpful in some way. Good luck with your project and I wish you the best! Hope you subscribe and I look forward to hearing from you in the future! Ride safe! Cheers!

@@illballa20 go to revzilla.com or bikebandit.com and see if the part numbers for that switch are the same between the 2011 and the 2017. If the part numbers match, then you can order it from my link. If not, you will have to buy whatever that part number is

on my bike when i hit the front brake it blows my rear light fuse ,what do you think it would be?
@TheMotorcycleBoss4 жыл бұрын
You have a short somewhere. I would check thr brake light switch by your lever, check your brake light itself, check your rear brake switch, next go to relays and check your service manual for further guidance. Typically, this happens when you have an oem halogen brake light bulb and it breaks internally causing a short in some cases. This can also be the case for switches so check all components linked to the front brake and rear light. If you follow your service manual and go to the electrical section, you will see all components tied to that circuit and you can test them individually.
