@@allgasnobrakes919 I quit my full time job to start my own company, and the first year went by really slowly. I had to sell the bike to cover rent and food. I sold it for 4k CAD, was low at the time, but I needed the money badly. I never wanted to sell it I do really miss it. Been 3 years since I last rode. Years later my company is doing great, and I could afford to buy back 4 of these now. I am keeping my eye out to see if I can find her again.

It will break every posted speed limit in the US before you shift to second gear, take a wild guess. Maybe if you're 30~40+ years old, married, flawless driving record, and only put liability it might not be too bad, but add collision while being young and single and your insurance will be as much as the cost of the whole bike per year. If you want a good looking, fast accelerating (at legal speeds), sporty bike without insane insurance, get a Ninja 400 or 650. The 0-60 is actually really similar between the 650 and the ZX6R and the 400 is only slightly slower, so if you're just trying to accelerate fast for fun and not highway racing at go-to-jail speeds and don't want to pay a small fortune for insurance, the 650 or 400 is what you want.

I can't wait to upgrade from my 300 in a few more years. I want to put 15k miles on the bike and I'm at 3k. I figure once I reach that goal I'll be more than ready to handle a 600.

That assessment of torque vs. horsepower is way off. They are mathematically related to each other, the torque is the instantaneous force, horsepower is the force over a time interval. Basically, horsepower is everything, period, but not just peak horsepower, the dyno curve of the horsepower. When people say a vehicle is "torquey", what they really mean (and probably don't know their terminology is somewhat incorrect) is that the vehicle has high horsepower low in the revv range, like a diesel pickup. A diesel pickup makes almost the same horsepower from idle as it does at redline, so it pulls the same no matter how you revv it. These 4 cylinder super sports don't make good low end power, so they don't pull very strong at low revvs, but both the horsepower and torque increase as you revv them out, so it "comes on" and starts to really start accelerating at higher revvs. All you need to understand the character of an engine is a dyno sheet across the revvs. If the horsepower is high at low revvs, it will pull strong at low revvs and feel what most people describe as "torquey". If the horsepower is on the top end it will feel slow until it's revved out. If it has a flat torque curve the power increase will be very linear and just progressively accelerate faster the closer you get to redline. Bottom line, it's all about the dyno graph of the horsepower, peak horsepower and torque figures mean almost nothing regarding the character of an engine.

The reason that the 600 class super sport bikes seem to really take off what you hit between 9 and 11000 RPM is because the peak horsepower is between 9 and 11000 RPM on them generally and then the peak torque is higher up between 13500 RPM and 16000 RPM on those bikes and the power band is designed so that once you hit the peak power it only drops off slightly by the time you hit Peak torque so that's why I want you hit around 9 to 11 thousand RPMs the bike really seems to take off is because you're up in the power and then you all the sudden start climbing up into the torque much quicker until you get to your Peak torque generally between 14 and 16000 RPMs on a bike like that I have high end torque and Mitten power but they do have plenty of usable horsepower and torque in the low end is well with the exception of the GSXR and specifically when I mean with the exception of the GSXR I mean the GSXR 600 has absolutely nothing below 5000 RPMs for you to do anything with its not even happy below $6,000 RPM but once you get on the GSXR 750 you actually get something usable On The Low End not just the mid-to-upper end only one bike that is the exception of the 600 Supersport class is going to be the cb600f series more specifically the cb600f 4S as well as the F for eyes but the f-4s are the ones that are more the odd kid out cuz their power is more linear just the higher you go the more power you get until you hit about 10,000 RPM on a 2002- 2006 Honda cb600f4 and when it comes to the Honda cb600f4 I am talking from experience because I owned a 2006.

This information is so entirely wrong with everything you said. Read how torque and horsepower work before you try to sound smart…just horribly false
@kieferj80582 жыл бұрын
your torque is always going to be higher until 5252 RPM, then after that, your horsepower is going to exceed the torque numbers. At 12,000RPM on this bike you'll be making double the horse power than torque, and the hp keeps climbing until around 15,500, then it starts to plateau.
