Kawasaki ninja zx9r full restoration

So unfortunately iv had my Kawasaki ninja zx9r sat outdoors for over 4 years under a cover which eventually disintegrated leaving my the bike exposed to the elements, which caused rust and dust to build up so here’s a video of me restoring it back to what it used to be! you did good , but you really need to clean out them carbs they will be as bad as the fuel pump, and change the spark plugs

I'm about to start up my 9R after winter-hibernation, hope it all goes well!! If you leave the sidestand down, and put the bike in 1st gear, the fuel pump will prime the carbs, just a tip.

Could try brake cleaner in to air intake ports. Usually starts up easily with that.

at 8mins in, if you pull the clutch in halfway it will prime the fuel pump without turning the engine over and save your battery. Also at 17 mins it looked like the kill switch was in the off position.

that cheap fuel pump is gonna fail you, i used one on my rf900 and it failed whitin a month better get a used oem one

Rule 1 of Zx9 ownership. Use 3/4 choke every time you start it

That has to be the worst F bike I've ever seen. The person who did that to a once awesome machine should be kicked up the back side. Please get rid of that street fighter rubbish and put it back to original. Also, you should never open the throttle for cold start. ZX9R's and most carbureted bikes only need a squirt of choke and it will start on its own.

This was turned into a street fighter after being dropped and damaging a lot of the original fairings and to replace them can cost a small fortune! I think most street fighter conversions are for this reason
