I just inherited a TD33. It is in very good condition considering its age. Two obvious differences to yours are 1. mine has an in-line primer pump and 2. the ignition ground wire exits the housing just above the muffler. I replaced the primer bulb and it now starts very easily and runs well. Takes a couple of pumps of the bulb and a couple of pumps of the tickler to get fuel from the over flow line. Starts better than any of my much newer Craftsman, Ryobi, etc. But I could only kill it using full choke. Turned out the run/stop switch was improperly connected. Fixed that and all is well. Only other problem is the unit is pretty heavy - I think I read about 13 pounds which is at least 2 pounds heavier that modern wackers. Thanks for your video. Other than some in Vietnamese is it the most recent one I could find on the 33.

I have a TD24 and I took it in to have the carb rebuilt and I know they were just trying to get me to buy a new weed eater but I wasn’t having it! The guy said “oh that’s too old I can’t fix it” so I bought the rebuild kit and had it running in about an hour. It’s a commercial grade weed eater, I used for my business for about a year and then it sat in my garage for like 20 years. I’m not tossing it in the trash! I’ve been using it for a few years since.👍🏻

Any idea why the carb won't suck fuel from the tank? I've replaced the primer bulb, fuel filter and fuel line as well as rebuilt the carb after cleaning it. Also, what is the function of that lever and fork at the bottom of the carb? I've never used a machine with one and don't understand it use or function and can't find a manual anywhere online. Thanks for any help I'm really frustrated.

I was gonna say good luck replacing that carb 😂😂😂 It sucks because those are really good weed eaters! I have one I bought new in 1991 for commercial landscaping and it still runs awesome but I had to rebuild the carburetor
