Very good info, how to change break pads. Thanks to Eli!

VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO PUT YOUR GREASY HANDS THAT HE HAS AND TRANSFER THEM TO THE BRAKE SURFACE OF THE PADS.

yes, the vn900 (kawasaki) in general are good quality machines.. I love my 2009 vn900 classic but i hate the fact that it only have 5 gears
@jarihuotari4485 жыл бұрын
It's not need any more gears because it is so much torque.
@2wheelsOrDieNC Жыл бұрын
Yea feels like it should have another gear.

Can caliper bolts just vibrate off? Or was my bike sabotaged?
@3hak13 ай бұрын

Thanks for the video. Locktite on those mounting bolts will be a good idea.

Nice video. Thanks. Is there a break in process to prevent glazing? Thanks.

Do you think the EBC Double-H Sintered brake pads are going to tear apart the stock rotor?
@EliGaffke11 жыл бұрын
Well I didn't do a video of it, but I did bleed the brake fluid after that. Which helps. But no I didn't do anything special to prevent glazing. Mainly just didn't do hard braking right away.

need some help with my repair. Did the rear brake repair (pads, seat and seals). However, I keep getting 30mm diameter piston seals for the front although the pistons are 25mm.
@dennygreif66339 жыл бұрын
If the pads are wore down do you have to push pistons back in?
@EliGaffke9 жыл бұрын
Yeah I just pushed them back using the old pad and a 'c' clamp. I used the old pad so I shouldn't damage the new pad.
@dennygreif66339 жыл бұрын
Do I have to take the lid of the master cylinder to do this?
@EliGaffke9 жыл бұрын
Denny Greif no you don't. And you don't to open the fluid system unless needed, it introduces airborne humidity. It will just push the fluid into the reservoir. In my rear pad change video I briefly show this. I don't have a video showing how to bleed the brakes, cuz I didn't have a second person there to run the camera. But if you feel you need to change the brake pads you probably need to bleed the fluid.

I see when he tightens the bango bolt that the whole caliper is shaky, is that normal
@willsrestorations3 жыл бұрын
That's normal until you apply the brakes a couple of times. Or if you don't tighten the mounting bolts for the caliper
@rudycastro98146 жыл бұрын
I never loosen the bangel bolt or what ever its called I didn't even remove the brake line I only removed the 2 caliper screws and the pin and the cylinder then I put it all back like it was.. cheers
@EliGaffke6 жыл бұрын
Still it's been close to 7 years,I don't remember why I had to loosen it. Maybe it wasn't oriented the right way for me. Banjo bolt. Not sure why it's called that.
@rudycastro98146 жыл бұрын
@@EliGaffke lol 7 years I didn't see the date I'm surprised you answered a comment..

ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOU APPLY BLUE MEDIUM LOCTITE TO THE TWO MOUNTING BOLTS FOR THE CALIPER. AS REQUIRED IN THE REPAIR MANUAL. EVERYONE'S A VIDEO STAR ON KZbin UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THEIR VIEWERS BECAUSE THE KZbinR WASN'T SMART ENOUGH TO TEACH PEOPLE THE RIGHT WAY.
