Every single video on this channel inspires me to go to my garage, and, at least wipe and polish or just inspect some part on my bike. If there were more enthusiasts like this, this world would be a much better place. Thank you Mr. Millyard. Your work is amazing.

This bloke really is a mechanical genius..I'm always in awe of a man who develops such incredible skills over the course of decades. Wonderful.
@WJSpies5 ай бұрын
I'm a former aircraft mechanic (USAF) and I LOVE these videos that Allen produces for KZbin streams. When I'm in the mood (which is 85% of the time) I simply love watching vids that make perfect sense, and put the whole world right, on its proper axis. They're interesting and very informative to me. Allen is a mechanical genius who share his wealth of, what is often uncommon, knowledge with the world at large. It's just right, extremely rewarding to observe a master motorcycle mechanic do his thing. Please keep producing these gems Allen! They're great..

One of the remarkable things about Alan (amongst many), is that he never refers to any Haynes manuel for any of these (I have a completely oil stained one for one of my bikes, the rest I just avoid taking apart), it's all in his head, like a concert pianist not needing the sheet music. Genius.
@johnnyblue4799 Жыл бұрын
In all fairness these carbs are not very complicated and Allen is a bit of a genius. This is peanuts for him. Something he does so he doesn't get bored while having a tea. If you didn't see them, watch his older videos about the full suspension mountain bikes he built from scratch. Those are monumental! Really works of art and engineering. Or the Viper V10 bike and Kawasaki 6 cylinders he built... amazing work.
@AccAkut1987 Жыл бұрын
Honestly we don't know that, even an expert like him probably has a manual on hand just in case, it's just professional. Can't have every torque spec in his head 😅
@johnnyblue4799 Жыл бұрын
@@AccAkut1987 Did you see him using a torque wrench? In time you develop a feel for how tight things need to be and you're going to use a torque wrench for where it really matters like cylinder heads, connecting rods, wheel axles etc.
@llamamanism Жыл бұрын
There is also an editing facility, so even if he had a quick check in the manual we wouldn’t know about it

Mr. Millyard is way ahead of the rest of us. I did a set of 6 Honda CBX Carbs. years ago and I kept looking at diagrams and notes. They even had to be tightened to the bracket in a certain order or the throttle linkages wouldn't work right. I actually tested that by tightening some out of order and the instructions were right. I bet this guy knows most of that stuff by memory.

Holy Smokes! That is some Rube Goldberg-like throttle assembly! I've reworked dozens of the subsequent generation of these carbs and the throttle linkages are so much easier to assemble and adjust. Kudos to Keihin for taking carburation to the level they did with the CVK series. These Z1 carbs are so much more complicated, I recommend learning how to service carbs and linkages in the CVK series before taking on these crazymakers 😜
