Kawasaki Z900 Bar end mirrors | CRG | install

I have gotten many questions on how I mounted my bar end mirrors on the Z900.

Don’t have the crg ones, got some cheap $40 ones off amazon but they have the same mounting. Had enough cussing and frustration tonight and then I found your video. Looks like that will for my situation. Very good video, 2 thumbs up!

Tyler Baumgarten yes my first round I was confused and frustrated. But after going this route it has worked well. Only thing to keep eye on is the the throttle side doesn’t get pushed against the throttle to much. So far in tad over a year and half I haven’t had issues. Hope it works out well for you.

Before you install the bar end weights it might be a good idea to put a few washers to act as a spacer to fill in the hollow of the bar end weight. This way the bar End weight will tighten against the handlebar nut instead of pushing against the mirror mount. They look very nice BTW.

Just watched the video thanks for the help adding washers is the way to go keeps the mirror clamp from binding with the throttle

You can also put some washers on the screw, that willl make the gap bigger where you can adjust the bar ends all the way.

im glad you got em to work well. Finally figured out how to mount it (the ugly way) just to find out the mirror on the pivot jiggles.... tried adjusting it and it doesnt help... looks like im sticking with the moose antlers for now.

Thanks for the response. I bought some eBay knockoffs of the crg, and they broke installing them only $18 you get what you pay for. Will buy the real deals and go with this setup.

Bam Austian I tried the cheap one and stripped out one of the mirrors cheap cheap aluminum but who know might try another go around and your right bike is so smooth had a 2010 R6 Raven and I have to say this bike is way better only 150 more miles to go and break in will be done lol

my 2020 z900 has much less material for the mirror to clamp on than yours. i thought they would be the same, but the mirror just slips off when i try to tighten it. i have about 3/16 of an inch of flat area to clamp on compared to what looks like you have 1/2 an inch. once i leave enough gap to not hit the throttle, i only have about 1/8 of an inch to clamp on.

After you took off the bar ends for the first time, the steeringbar sticks out like that? It wasn't necessary to put in any adapter or anything?

I got Ebay knockoffs of the CRG for my Z900 and they work great! I was a little worried they would be less effective than the stock antler style but they actually are better for view! Although much smaller mirrors, they are out far enough to the sides that I don't just see my shoulders like I did with the stock antler mirrors. And they look way better too

Can you mount these on the bar next to the clutch and brake instead of the bar end? Seems like you can unscrew it and open the clamp.

Awesome Err yes, you can un do the screw completely and it is on a hinge that allows you to open it all the way.

You could but all your going to be seeing is your arm. They need to be mounted at the end of the bars.

bolt is loctited. You will need to apply a fair amount of pressure

Gotta say worst bar end install I've ever watched. That threaded piece with the rubber on it is the internal bar weight and needs to be fully inside the handlebar. There is nothing holding the weight in other than the inside rubber bushing. The left side is bad enough but the right side is an accident waiting to happen. Please anyone watching this video do not install your mirrors like this. Buy either the CRG mirror adapters or use the mirror adapters that come with the cheap Chinese mirrors.

You won't see apeshit with this setup ... you will always have to lift up your arm to see anything.

Just why expand your motorcycle :) it will make it harder to drive in traffic jams. I personally do not like this modification :)
