I've seen bikes on the dyno get blown up by not pulling in the clutch quick enough at redline. The dyno is still spinning up faster even though bike is at redline, which over revs the motor and grenades it. Same thing happens with cars if clutch or next year isn't selected quick enough. Gotta be on point or that new bike will have destroyed top end.

Also, people have to realize that Transmission Gearing plays a huge role in torque output for the ZX10R in the low & midrange
@carlmayer6913 жыл бұрын
forget the trans, change the sprocket teeth...these superbikes are so ridiculously over geared for emissions, safety ..go -1 up front, another +3, +4T rear ....you'll feel some serious NEW acceleration. So many owners disregard this simple, inexpensive way to improve acceleration performance. Gives you a 'seat of pants' feel of more HP, performance. Most of these superbikes, ZX14, go nearly 100mph in 1st....gear it down...unless you can ride around above 140+ mph all day. '..cheap performance' gain you won't believe !!!!
@bacchusthompson58343 жыл бұрын
@@carlmayer691 Changing sprockets will result in what you're describing. This issue will turn into actual usability after a drastic sprocket change... For instance, a 2014 R1 factory ratio is 17/47. Imagine just how unusable the bike would be for everyday use with 16/49 ratio, 12 o'clock would be your fear every ride. The intentions of the bike would determine if actual Transmission changes or sprocket changes will give the desired results. You can't get a ZX10R to compete with a Gixxer on the Dragstrip without a 1st gear reduction. Simple sprocket changes are not going to get you anywhere near it. Same with Roll Racing, a Gen. 4 ZX10R transmission has been proven to provide better results for the keeping the bike in the powerband over the Gen. 5 transmission in a Gen. 5

I changed my 2016 R1 sprockets several times. The last setup was down 1 on the front and plus 4 on the rear. I would always loose to my buddies 2020 R1 well I put it back closer to stock basically just down one on the rear and now I pull on him. He does weight more than me but you would've thought for sure it would've pulled him with it geared nuts and although it felt quicker it just wasn't. It was blowing through the rpm range way too fast. Real world example there.
