Kawasaki "J" Concept - 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

Kawasaki recently revealed the "J" 3-wheel electric concept vehicle at this year's 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.
"J" is a personal mobility system of the future that adapts to the type of travel required, from city riding to fun sport riding. Its sharp aggressive styling, like that of Kawasaki motorcycles, is one of its distinguishing characteristics.
"J" would not be possible without Kawasaki's proprietary battery management technology. For example, GIGACELL®, a high-capacity nickel-metal hydride battery, can store large quantities of electricity, enabling a stable supply to a power grid. The next-generation light rail vehicle, SWIMO®, captures electric energy generated while braking to be used for acceleration. Kawasaki battery management technology is used in many fields, and will be instrumental in shaping the future.

Brilliant , A new step forward in motorcycle configuration. I will ride one ! Awesome position shifting that will relieve tiredness in the muscle and joints allow longer duration behind the bars with reduced fatigue. positioning for speed [Hi & Lo] more tyres = less tread wear and safer braking. I can barely stand the suspense . ROLL IT OUT people!

Great concept vehicle! I can enjoy art like this! I however do have to mention the spike on the rear. It likely causes many nations to ban this vehicle IF it would be up for sale in the future. Simply because in a crash that spike could hurt anyone in its path. Also, specially in the Netherlands this would not be approved because it has to many sharp edges sticking out. The front steering is great, yet as at 0:55 suggested, this will cause for problems due to people trying to do that while standing still. Obviously that would not work and is a weak point in the design. Rubber tires are designed to roll, not to do as seen in this video. May need some more attention. ;)

Some of you can't grasp that our fuel reserves are running out, and electric is our future, I agree the spike needs to go off the back, then a pillion seat could be put there and add fenders, and a luggage system.

Nice concept except the steering levers, the different hand/arm postion during curves is not very symmetrical. This should be changed into a traditional steering unit, this will give the driver more feeling while making turns.
