Mine sounds the same, replaced the plugs, removed clutch cover and found milky cream on the inside cleaned it off, fitted new gasket and refitted it, filled up with new oil, still sounds like yours, so will try water pump seals next, just hoping it not the head gasket?

I would have went with the carbs being honest. Just the amount of crud that was in them when you had them to bits.

I'm guessing it may be the carbs as well. Also thinking it may be the enging timing for the clunking and shaking. I will say I'm in no way good at diagnosing issues. Though getting there slowly.

Rigal the shaking is probably due to the mis-firing cylinder, my guess at present is that its either ignition related or carb related. Good thing is that ignition is an easy one to diagnose. Probably a video later this evening. - matt

yes...could be petrol feed...pipes, connections, air leaks...and otherwise electrical......coils maybe......usually something simple, but finding the problem is trial and error sometimes.....

+ROY Dean Going to try the coil first, probably tomorrow and video that. Just bought some new hose, you would believe how hard it is to find 10mm hose. everyone has 9mm. Any road, its a shame that I can't flip the carbs upside down to test if its that.

I have the same bike and the carbs will leak fuel quite badly what do I need to buy in order to fix this apparently its a common problem with the bike
@Scotty_K7 жыл бұрын
I thought it could either be pilot or float setting het thingy 😂 as it had already been found that fuel had gone through the carbs into your oil I had a similar problem with it starving itself

I've had a similar issue and mine was the float in one carb was set just a little to high and on tick over it was flooding slightly and the extra fuel was being sucked into the engine ( i could see it looking into the mouth of the carbs when running) and as you reved, with the extra air being sucked in the cylinder would fire up again
@dirtygarageguy9 жыл бұрын
***** thanks for the comment, I have set the carb float height previously but that doesn't mean that isn't my issue, will be going over everything again after the fore mentioned possibles. Thanks again

You should get rid of the dodgy standard tap whilst you're sorting it out
@dirtygarageguy9 жыл бұрын
Chazillor What the fuel tap? do they do aftermarket ones or do you eman off a later model? Thansk for the comment - matt
@Chazillor9 жыл бұрын
if it's a square cap model a suzuki rf 600/900 tap fits virtually straight on. look for kawasaki er5 group on facebook few of us have done it

Made easier with twins as you can swap components one at a time to the opposite side
