Years later and it is always been inked and always writes. Doesn’t leak or skip even after hours in my pocket. I would need to buy it again if I lost it. I have held a plastic version and it is a very different pen. Lots of good pens out there and this is one of them. A detailed and accurate review. Thanks.

Thank you! Even though I think the price is a little high, this is one I would also rebuy

I was gifted one of these and it quickly became my everyday pen. It's totally bomb proof: I think it could get runover by a car and be fine as long as it's closed. I replaced the delivered nib with a 1.1 mm stub and it was super easy to do. The stub is awesome too. Since you can replace the nibs and the body is so rugged, this is a life-time pen. I also have an older clip and it stays on better than the newer ones....

That's a nice gift, and I completely agree! It could easily be an heirloom to pass down to the next generation.

Great pen!!! I have 2 of this pen, and I use them avery morning to write in my journal with. I am looking forward to Kaweco releasing the Brass Sport pen with the piston-fill mechanism

I like patina!!! I can appreciate both patina and a pristine look. There is a place for both in a collection.

I have 6 plastic sports, 2 Al sports, and a brass sport, and the brass is by far my favorite. I’ve had it for two years and it has a beautiful patina on it

Sounds like a great collection! I was surprised by how much the brass feels like an upgrade

I’ve many Al Sport pens, many clones of Al Sport pens and also a clone of Brass Sport. Fit & finish of the clones which cost a fraction of original Kawecos is excellent, but their nibs are quite average. I wish their nib units were compatible with Kaweco’s, but unfortunately they’re not.

I believe Kaweco makes their nibs in-house, so unfortunately they aren't very swappable across brands. I do have one Chinese pen that's heavily inspired by this design, and am pretty impressed by it's nib. I may review that model in the future.

I have the same Kaweco black as you do and love the pen but, the converter is ridiculously small. A must have for an enthusiast.
@ForTheLoveOfPens7 ай бұрын
I agree the converter is very small, but I appreciate that they developed one. I’ve heard rumors Kaweco is working on a new version that holds more ink. 🤞🤞

If they only make the pen 1/2 inch longer!!@@ForTheLoveOfPens

Hehe I have the bronze sport and a bronze watch, I guess it depends where you live or perhaps your body chemistry. We live close to the ocean and the bronze tarnish a bit fast. I usually reset the finish and clean grime at the watch joints/pent threads with a ketchup/baking soda paste. Makes them shiny rose gold-ish again. 😅

Great review. I have the same pen and love using it regularly. You should go for their “Deluxe” clip, which matches the aesthetics of the pen and stays on in its place. It comes in various finishes. I have one in silver that matches the silver nib and medallion on the finial. Cheers!

Thanks! I’ve considered it. Most people I see that use a clip on this get the bronze color, but it’s not an exact match. I’ll think about silver, thanks!
@MrJungleman14 ай бұрын
@@ForTheLoveOfPens My thoughts exactly. Most people get drawn to the vintage appeal of the Bronze clip, but it’s not quite the match for the Brass Sport. Silver clip goes better with the silver parts of the pen. Just a personal taste.

I just bought my first Sport. I haven't inked it, yet. It is so light and the section is thinner than I expected. I got the base model. Perhaps I should have gotten a heavier model.
@ForTheLoveOfPens7 ай бұрын
The dimensions are largely identical, so this grip section may not suite you better. Personally I find the lightness of the plastic version feels cheap in the hand.

Im surprise with the heaviness of this pen when i first got mine. I have small hands and find them too heavy for my liking. First impressions dont last. Boy i was wrong, i find myself reaching for it instead of the other Kaweco aluminums and plastics that i own. My everyday carry, and been using it all the time, every time. Changed the nib couple of times, from double broad, stub and now medium nib at the moment. Now im surprised i dont find it too heavy anymore, or is it that im loving the weight of it now. Love this pen.

I got one many yeas ago --- worst writing pen ever. It's been sitting in a box since day one!

I'm sorry to hear that! What aspect of it did you not like? The nib, the grip, the ergonomics?
