madhuri dixit had fever for 3 days when she was told that she has to dance with prabhu deva and she said no to director because she know who prabhu deva is and she is scared to do dance with him, then prabhu deva told her that he will give really easy and simple steps to her and finally he somehow managed to convince her. This fact was shared by madhuri herself.

She was suffering from a Viral Fever. Not that she listened Prabhu Deva's name and she fell ill. The fact was She told Prabhu Deva that your style and my style of dancing is different so choreograph accordingly. Madhuri is a trained and proficient kathak dancer who has also danced on some of the challenging bollywood choreography

i did not said that the song became hit only because of prabhu deva, and the song is konown for its music and dance. And yes madhuri is a wonderful dancer but you can still see her struggling with the dance steps and she had to struggle because the song was choreographed by a man whose steps are only made for him.

It's not really about the pace (Mera Piya Ghar Aaya proves Madhuri never had any problems with "fast"), but about the different styles Prabhu and Madhuri excel at - modern and classical, respectively. The "slowed down" choreography added a lot of grace to what otherwise could have been a run-of-the-mill number. Most importantly, it made sense for her character and the scene.
