i named my daughter kaya, totally forgetting that its a rastafari term for ganj, it does have many meanings, elder sister, wise child, restful place, (hopi indian, japanese...) and recently on a trip to south africa a friend pointed ot that the shacks are called kaya's, dnt know if this was just a local term. but kaya is a beautiful name hope ur daughter got this name! or if still to be born good luck!!

Mine is yet to come, I had a lil letting go session for my Kaya the other day. I am still waiting for the stability for her to come into being. I looked on wikipedia and got a different definition Kaya, also called srikaya (from the word meaning "rich" in Malay based on its golden color) or coconut egg jam, is a coconut jam made from coconut milk, sweetened with sugar. The spread originated in Southeast Asia, most likely Indonesia or Malaysia. Kaya is sweet and creamy, available as a golden brown or green colored spread depending on the amount of pandan and extent of caramelization of the sugar.
