Well edited, nice choice of music, our area we live has a multitude of adventure , only restricted by your imagination and health. I've been doing this kind of activity for 40 years here.

Incredible as always! I'm a long time fan, and I've seen a lot of your videos. I'm from (the more wild, Northern) California, USA. As a newcomer to the sport, I'd be interested to hear and see more of your habits and experience regarding the relevant skills (like safety, navigation, communication, and meteorology/tidal knowledge). Your procedures for radio checks, how you are able to determine weather or tides without using the internet, sailing maneuvers and how to tack, how to ride currents,. I've also noticed the camaraderie you have with your kayaking friends... it's hard to explain, but whether from my personal experiences, or the cultural differences between my geographic location and yours (California and Australia), I am inspired by just how friendly, relaxed, and down-to-earth you and your friends are. I have a dream of seeing (or even sailyaking) the Great Barrier Reef, and seeing some whale sharks up close!

I really like and enjoy your videos. I know how much work goes into them. I sold my AI and got a TI. I am a bigger guy, around 280lbs or 127kg. I wanted something I could carry more gear in because of weight and have room to carry gear in the front part where the other person would sit….plus I like day sailing with friends. Have you contemplated getting a TI after seeing your friend’s TI on this trip? Just curious.
@Sail2spear Жыл бұрын
Absolutely , I was toying with the idea of either , in the end I decided with the AI due to it being lighter and easier to handle , usually by the time I reach the islands I’m buggered and being that bit lighter makes it easier to pull up the beach , sometimes it can be 50 meters plus of distance I need to pull my kayak up , I do wait for the tides if possible but sun light can be limited in the arvo

How do you keep some of your gear (mirage drive) from rusting? You are mostly in salt water & no clear water to rinse the salt off,...or maybe it doesn't rust that fast
@Sail2spear3 ай бұрын
@@cornelius-u4c I’ve had no issues with rusting so far , I normally give it a good wash when ever I reach a good water surface as o do with all my gear but the longest it’s not been washed is about two weeks , have you had trouble with the drive rusting ?
@cornelius-u4c3 ай бұрын
@@Sail2spear Good to hear, thanks! I haven't had any rust issues, I've only done day trips, haven't been out for more than a day. I usually wash mine with soap & a good rinse. Was curious about the longer journeys as you have been doing. I plan to do longer trips in the future sometime. (Philippines island hopping). 🙂 Thanks for the reply! Happy sailing!

😮Just come across your channel. I'm looking to buy either an AI or a TI. Is there any reason you dont use splash tarps/ guards on the front of your boats, as I would imagine you would get splashed every wave?
@Sail2spear Жыл бұрын
I live in the tropics so being splashed cools me off on hot days , if I lived in less warmer conditions they are something id consider, what's your temps like ?

Hi Mark! Love the videos. Are you still sailing? I'm in Mackay and am soon to receive our Tandem Island. Your adventures get me excited about what's possible. Just have to work out how far I can push it with the kids. Cheers.
