Another great Video , your content and editing are always interesting. We are a group of 7 Hobie Adventure Islanders from Byron Bay and have been watching your channel and taking notes . Thank you for making all the mistakes we are learning from We just got back from a 7 day from Yeppoon to Humpy and Keppel islands , sail and camp out .june2-12. Had good and bad winds , some breakdowns and a lot of fun . 2 older type AI took on a bit of water as they sit quite low Easter this year 3 of us did Urungan Harbour to West coast fraser . Bare bones camping . 20-25 knot winds on return which showed us what these little craft are able to handle Thanks again , looking forward to the next episode James and the Hobie 7

Something I do quite often when getting close to shore is just uncleat the rudder line, but not pull it up. It will stay down on its own, unless you hit something which will cause it to kick up.

Hey there shiner great to hear from you , loving my drone and what element it can bring to the channel , yes it would of been a short trip without them , considering the weather and wind direction I would of had to sail home In the process of getting a replacement part and going to carry a second mirage drive as a backup given this is the 2nd breakdown from it

Great to see you back big fella. Good to see that the bilge pump worked well. That's real peace of mind in those conditions. Have you modified the front hatch seal to make it more water proof?
@Sail2spear2 жыл бұрын
It’s great to have a chance to get back out on the water again , between work ,renovations and bad weather must of been 6 months , way too long Bilge works great , ultimately I may go to a fixed manual bilge so I don’t rely on my batteries , bad things always seem to happen all at once if you know what I mean or may run the two systems I have modified it but Derek from the trip gave me some advice on some additional stuff that should help seal it Thanks for tuning in mate

Looking good for a start. Your bow looked a little low. Were you front heavy? Or just heavily loaded all round. I'd have loved to do something like that but I'm a little inexperienced as yet. I have a pair of AIs and I'm not getting the water time I hoped down here on the Goldie. Struggling to get my family interested. I may have to just start asking friends and my wider family to join me.

@@Sail2spear My New (financial) years resolution - spend more time on the water. I'll grab whoever I can and make a regular day of it. I agree the are some great areas down here. @Sail2spear6 ай бұрын
Oh wow I didn’t know there was a town too , which part of UK? I wonder if there’s a link ?
@branni65386 ай бұрын
It's a town in a county called Cumbria on the border between Scotland and England. It's where the Lake district national park is. The town is named after the joining of two rivers called the Cocker and Derwent. The end of the river Cocker flows into the river Derwent within the town. It's the mouth of the river Cocker hence the name Cockermouth. I'd bet for sure someone from this town named that island. 👍
