He probably lost hundreds or thousands in gear and at the very least submerged very expensive reels that will need to be disassembled and cleaned. Just flipping the kayak back upright is a difficult task in itself then he has to get back in it. It would be a hell of a thing to stage.

Those Styrofoam pads he has around the rods are called rod floats, definitely the cheapest, easiest way to make sure you don't lose them. But they will float away 😅
