This video has been hugely helpful as a person new to Brisbane and paddling. We did Dutton Park, Indooroopilly and Enoggera last weekend on the Hobie Oasis and this video was a big help. Dropping into Oxley Creek near Indooroopilly was pretty cool. Thinking of Tinchi Tamba this weekend :) . I picked up a Hobie Tandem Island today so we’ll be able to head to the islands too.

Just went to newstead house last week. It's awesome.
@4WheelsOnTheRoad3 жыл бұрын
Have not been around that area, I drive past a lot and it always seems a bit choppy. Lovely area though, what day did you go, was there a lot of traffic on the water?
@nefolimate19613 жыл бұрын
@@4WheelsOnTheRoad i went there on 8/5/21 . It was pretty quiet. Not sure if its the same every time or maybe we got lucky that day. I have just uploaded the video as well. Anyways awesome man, will check out other spots soon. Thanks for recommendation.

Great video idea, I can see a lot of people getting something out of this. There are so many beautiful places to kayak when you know where to look.

You forgot to mention Bulimba ck aka Doboy ck,it has a boat ramp towards the mouth and 2 canoe access points. One is a pontoon with a ramp and the other, a concrete ramp, about halfway between the two so you can explore upper,middle or lower reaches of the creek. It's quite a long way from ramp to ramp as the creek meanders extensively between Hemmant and Carina.
@4WheelsOnTheRoad3 жыл бұрын
Oh nice one I have not been there, thanks for the heads up!
@4WheelsOnTheRoad3 жыл бұрын
Is that the one on Fleming Road?
@yuk-erkmckirk92773 жыл бұрын
@@4WheelsOnTheRoad yes it is. The pontoon is at meadowlands rd Carina and the boat ramp at aquarium ave Hemmant. Very interesting little ck,deep holes ,wide and narrow bends varying depths and lots of wildlife,always quiet even on weekends.

Another nice video. I've recently purchased a pair of sailing kayaks so I'm looking to see what's available on the GC or SEQ in general. Shouldn't be hard.
@4WheelsOnTheRoad4 жыл бұрын
thanks Paul, yeah I thought places would be so easy to find and it turned out all the resources were not so current, I have a playlist on the channel here under the playlists tab called "kayaking" which has all the places (lakes, rivers etc) that are great spots around the 3hrs from Brisbane area if that helps also

You wouldn't by chance remember the day and time you filmed the Dutton park segment do you? I am wondering what Saturday parking might be like?
@4WheelsOnTheRoad3 жыл бұрын
Saturday parking is about as busy as it is during the week, early morning is best on any day. During the week labourers from nearby building site park there as do people from the school and those who walk over to the uni. I would say it may even be quieter on the weekends
