Been boating my entire life (67 years old). If we see a small boat or kayakers we pull the throttle back and slowly pass. People this age shouldn't be in boats if they can't see or can't control the boat. Pisses me off but you kept calm and took a picture which is good.

@@markbass9402 ive been jetskiing and boating. Not once have i ever come close to a kayak, simply because they are not hard to see in the water. You have to be completely brain-dead to hit a kayak. And they're like bikes not motorcycles, motorcycles are jetskis

Nope, that is where I call the Coast Guard or Fish & Game or whatever the agency is in that State. In Texas all accidents are supposed to be reported. There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for that bullshit. Anyone that cannot avoid another vessel has zero business operating a boat. This video made my blood boil. I have a hard time believing they couldn't see you with a flagpole in broad daylight. It is bad enough with the idiots purposely trying to dump kayakers with their wake, hitting my craft and keeping moving isn't going to fly with me. They have to come back in the same direction to land their craft. A whole lot of mischief can take place in that time. I wonder how they would fare on the boat ramp with greased tires and brake pads...
@electronicstechnician1237

I no longer go out in my kayak and paddle boat for that reason. I got tired of worrying about whose going to hit me and who isn't. Sold both of mine and bought a bass boat. And don't worry, I always watch out for other people unlike these fucking idiots. Not all bass boaters are dumb asses.

Some motor boaters scare the Hell out of me. They don't pay attention. I was rowing on the Hudson and three adult guys had 2 kids in a tow tub and it flipped. The speedboat was 3/4 of a mile away by the time the idiots noticed their kids weren't there. When they came back, the kids were clinging to my rowing shell. Lucky another motorboat didn't run into one of the kids in the meantime--a ten-year-old's head is hard to see at 40 MPH, especially over a beer can.

I hope you made a police report & tracked them down to pay for any damage & had the police ticket them. I once in a 16 foot boat on the detroit river was anchored for a few hours in 6 foot of water perch fishing near sugar Island, when a two tiered 30 foot boat came within a foot of me tearing everything up. He destroyed my anchor rope & fishing line plus scared all the fish away. He was gonna take off I toke a picture of his boat & boat number & then he proceeded to due doughnuts to impress a young boy on his boat. This rich bastard pissed me off so bad he kept doing this for a good 5 minutes. He just would flip me off when I said can you see I am here fishing? So I picked up a frozen water bottle I had & threw it at him hitting him in the face. He called the police but I had taken video of some of the things he had done. Police toke the prick to jail he was drunk. He had to pay for losing my anchor & rope. My two poles he damaged that were in rod holders that is how close he came.

I had a similar experiance, but instead of a boat it was a foot paddle toy boat that is as big as a boat but doesn't have a motor. Basically me and my friend were chilling in the water at the beach and that boat came right at us. Keep in mind I was behind the boat and my friend only noticed it when it was behind me and tried alerting me. He basically ran over me and my friend kicked the side of the boat to get away. He escaped and I went right under it since his alert was too late. When I was under the boat a metal object hit my back and left a small gash that healed the next day. What pisses me off to this day was that guy on the boat mocked my gasps for air and screamed at me and said that I needed to be more alert next.

Same thing happened to me down here in SW florida.....except it was a T-bone collision and a kid driving the unregistered skiff. .....waving and hollaring and all I could see was the kids head.....LOOKING BACK at his wake....he came off plane at the last second and bumped the boat. Glad to see you were wearing your PFD. What kinda camera were you filming with? Go Pro? Glad you were ok.

I have had boats intentionally get as close as they could, as if to roll me over in the wake. I bet that captain was trying to do the same to you. sad really but I would have reported him to the sheriff.

Same it’s complete bullshit. A lot of people don’t realize the time and effort that goes into kayaking. All the gear and everything. And they think it’s okay to cause harm to other people cause it’s funny. They have the whole damn lake yet they ride 5 ft towards away from you. Honestly when I see a boat coming towards I don’t move I wait for them to and if they get to close up I stand up.

Old men... Old people in general should not be allowed to drive a car or boat, even a bike when they are over a ceratin age. This is the kind of things that happen when you let them.

one time I was fishing from shore in a local River and had a run in with a drunken jet skier. he came more than 500ft directly across the river from his boat, looked right at us, and started doing donuts throwing water and wake at us laughing and pointing. I wanted to launch a rock his way but I didn't. instead I stood and watched as his lady friends screamed across the river and egged him on. must have made him feel tough. He shot back across the river and picked up one of the drunk women off of their boat. he proceeded to turn and get a head of steam that an F-15 would have been proud of. that thing was screaming and just as he started to yip and holler that drunken girl fell off the back. I've never seen someone skip across the water until that day. she looked like a lucky stone. I was laughing so hard that I was afraid I might piss my pants. I stood up and cheered and started clapping. the person with me got mad at me because someone may have been hurt but I figured what goes around comes around. the next thing I heard was the drunken babbling and bawling of one disoriented idiot. lol I still laugh at that. it was one of the best instances of instant karma I've ever seen!

carry a "side arm"? Why so you could murder someone that was stupid and hit your boat? Just because people do stupid things, and make stupid mistakes like these guys in the john boat... dosent mean you can shoot them! You must be the biggest puss in the world to think about a gun in an instace like this! People like you make responsible gun owners look bad.
@TXetc
@TXetc 10 жыл бұрын
runeski74 I think he meant so you are not out there defenseless against one or more people that may intend to do you harm. I carry mine as well because there are drunk/crazy idiots, cartel gangs/drug runners, etc. out there all the time so you never know. Doesn't mean you intend to "Murder" anyone, hopefully the firearm will deter criminals intending to do you harm if need be.

I hear you, but in this instance here..... there was a boat accident. What would your gun do for you there?.... unless out of anger you want to pull it out and do something stupid?... Thats all Im saying. Im all for responsible gun owners carrying wherever or whenever!
@TXetc
@TXetc 10 жыл бұрын
runeski74 I hear you bud. I think he meant because it was just one kayaker alone in the video and 2 guys in the boat. Sometimes with accidents of all kinds(Even boating accidents) people can get "Road Rage" and do crazy things even in they are at fault/drunk/etc. The guy in the kayak was calm and cool but you never know who you will run into out there. I get your point though.

I can't believe your composure. If some jackass hit me while on the water he would, if he's extremely lucky and a very strong swimmer, be swimming to shore with his outboard inserted in his southern orifice. Lucky for me; the closest I have come to that situation was an idiot who trolled past my boat and snagged my anchor line twice. The second time he asked me to pull up my anchor to retrieve his lure I told him to "GFY". I got a very nice Shad-Rap out of the deal!
