Some nice slime rocket's 😂. Man when they hit by the yak, it will definitely get you 😂. Yeah I had something similar happened to me, where the wind picked up, and I was peddling back in on the detroit river up stream into the wind, with weeds blowing into my drive, holy smoke's 😅 I was stock in the current under a bridge, because every time I would make a little headway, I'd have to pull the pdl drive up and pull the weeds out ,and the current would push me back down stream. I had to try to paddle and peddle just to get from under that bridge that goes to grosse ile😅... I was sooo exhausted, let me say thats was a heck of a workout that day 😂. I can say haveing 106pdl is a workout on the Detroit River at time's 😂

I can't tell you how many times the Pike would wait until the last minute and hit the lure right next to the yak...spooked me every time 🤣. Wow...I thought I had it bad in the winds that day...sounds like your day was even a level or two more difficult! I know exactly how you felt. There was a moment in time when I wondered if I could make it back 😮. I think fishing the Detroit river would be both exciting and a little scary at the same time 🤣. Thanks for sharing the story! @@FishingAroundFenton yeah fishing the detroit river is a little scary because of boats, and ships. I've learned that the Detroit River current is real deal, even on a yak it pulls you faster then you think. I'm learning as I go, I've learned staying by the banks to cut back on some of that current, Always try to keep my head on a swivel at all time's for boats and flouting tree branches. I have been thinking, by next year going to get some mirrors to help see behind me so I know when to get hell outta the way 🤣 and see who's flying behind me.

Yikes! Heck...I avoid some of the local lakes just because there are people flying around on jet skis and fast boats. Detroit River would be a whole other level beyond that of big, fast things coming at you. I'd definitely love to catch a Sturgeon though...that would be a dream fish to land. Staying closer to shore sounds like a good plan 👍🙂
