Great work mate! Went surf fishing today at golden beach but only got 1 flatty 40cm and a salmon that went back. You should put a fish measuring sticker on the handle of your net

Yum! Flathead is one of my favourite eating fish. I haven't had it in a while though. Been buying frozen vacuum sealed fish lately. Got some nice yellow fin tuna steaks at the weekend.

Awesome video as always Nev! I went out yesterday fishing on the kayak and funnily enoigh one of the flaps on my pedal system od broken as well! Had to revert to Paddling lol. But I ticked iff my first successful catch on a lure, thanks to all your vids! Certainly not a monster (not even legal and was safely returned), but caught a 30cm Flatty on a small Vibe.

My father use to catch quality fish like yours here. He would bring them alongside the boat and slowly reach under them tickling their tummy. The fish will settle to the point you can lift the fish clear of the water. Would won’t have to net your fish

That's because they are a cryptic hunter, meaning they lay on the bottom and rely on their camouflage to keep them safe, when they are startled by something they dart away and quickly go still on the bottom. The tickle makes them relax cause it feels as if they are on the bottom and safe.

hey mate, I do find they rip your leader up from the line being loose in the net when you land them. Obviously for a large one you want to get it in the net 100% so I assume that's what he meant.

Getting trebles tangled in the net is a pain in the arse too. The newer enviro nets are less prone to tangling though.
