hey Ty... I watch all of your videos. the beat lure that I have used for false albacore are diamond jigs in silver in 1/2 oz to 1 oz. Throw it out and reel as fast as you can so it is skipping across or just under the surface through the blitz. The false albacore will explode on the lure and it's a top water vicious explosion. I caught 22 of them about three weeks ago here in Wilmington, NC in about 2-3 hours. Tight lines!

I use a clear unfinished jerk bait. Just put a thin black lateral line on it with a set of eyes and clear coat it. They love em.

Up in Connecticut and Rhode Island we use zoom super salty flukes pearl white on 1/2oz jig heads and apoxie jig just skimming them on top. The flukes we use rapid retrieval and a twitching motion

Ive always had good luck with the Bonita using a cocahoe minnow with a light jig head. I tear em up on it over here in Orange Beach!

You should've been out near Navarre pier 2 weekends ago a school of 2 schools of mahi cam through, 1 sailfish, and 3 schools of 20 or more tarpon. It was a great day!

My best False Albacore lures are Hogy Epoxy jigs in 3/8 and 5/8 oz, Deadly Dicks 3/4 and 1 oz, Float and Fly rigs which is a wooden casting egg tied to your main line and a 2-3' leader with a deceiver fly on the end and also small crank baits like yo zuris.

Next time try some small sling jigs. Academy carries them and they don't cost but like $3ea. They will cast a mile and look a lot like glass minnows.

I troll rat l traps around gulf shores every summer and so far I've only caught bonitas I find frenzies like that and just tell the edges of them or even a hundred yards or so from the frenzy and it doesn't take more than 10-20 mins of trolling with a paddle kayak and I'll get a bite I always use the 1 ounce traps too with some pro cure smeared on it I've never been skunked but rarely hook into kings it's like 10 Bonita or so per king

Even though the fish wouldn't eat the lure you were throwing it is still fun to have them blowing up around you like that. Hey next time try a small silver lip-less crank bait. It gets the lure under the school of bait fish and gives you that rattle to attract them. Great video dude.
