As you mention, everyone has his recipe. Yours is good. For nighttime yellowtail snapper in the Caribbean we use food leftovers, grind them, put in a sealed 5 gallon bucket on the roof of the house to “age” 1 day. Then mix it 50:50 with beach sand. We will make balls with this smelly stuff and trow them in 10 fathoms of water. We call the ensuing melee “Jurassic park”…

My stores stink. Can't find canned mackerel any where but a ton of canned salmon. Do you think that would work for porgy?
@TampaBayMagnetFishing3 жыл бұрын
For porgy I would buy clams in cans and use that as the fish meat base. In my un-professional opinion salmon won’t work for them.

What brand of oatmeal is that? The taper of the container should make it convenient for getting the frozen blocks out. Quaker containers won’t work anywhere’s near as well.

Nothing specific just the Dollar store brand keep it cheap

How many chum blocks u use per fishing trip?
@TampaBayMagnetFishing3 жыл бұрын
When I bring chum it’s only 1 block as I am usually on and off my kayak in a few hours. If I go out in a boat for 5-8 hrs I bring 3. Tight lines buddy!

@@TampaBayMagnetFishing thank you do you have reference for a good chum net for the blocks I am a beginner when it comes to this

No need to go crazy simply get a mesh laundry bag from the dollar store with the larger holes and tie off your vessel.

@@TampaBayMagnetFishing Yes - I have made chum. In fact, need to make another batch. I live on the East Cape, Baja Sur, with the Sea of Cortez beach a few minute walk from our casa. I have a friend reporting for duty as we begin some fishing in the coming week. The chum seems helpful at times around my boat by releasing scent. Good chumming / great fishing.

Can I also us tuna in can instead of jack mackerel?
@TampaBayMagnetFishing3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely you can use any fish base really to make this recipe. Just know that different fish base attracts different game and bait fish.

Can't I never went and haven't fished much since I posted the video as we have Red Tides usually resulting in massive fish kills here in Florida and well I gave up on trying to catch fish regularly. I am sorry
