The Hobie Sidekick Ama Outrigger Kit adds extra stability to your kayak. Whether you sail, fish, shoot pictures, dive, or just want to feel a bit more stable when using your kayak, the Hobie Sidekick Ama Outrigger Kit will do it. Light weight and simple to install.
The Sidekick Amas are not designed for the Pro Angler so it will not fit directly. There will need to be some customization done.

They both can flip but the adventure island in my opinion is safer. In honesty it depends on the type of kayak it is mounted on.

I have the outback 2019 and have the adventure island kit installed and work great. My front hatch open perfect with no problem and make my rig supper stable.😎💪🎣

Like the video and good job on the info , I’m looking for a kit so I can have my 55lb dog with me. The island kit looks like it would work cause I want to make it to where he has he’s own spot . In between the bars I would some kinda mess for him to wake on .

Great vid. Do you notice any directional skewing or loss of pedaling speed with the Island AMA mounted on the revo13? I’m contemplating going with a 13 or 16 with a single ama for my next setup.

Thank you! You won’t feel much of a loss of speed when peddling if you have the turbo fins! You can feel a bit of a difference but not much to not use the ama! The Revo 16 is a bit faster then my Revo 13

The eye bolt was previously there when I purchased it from the last person. It does not connect to anything specials.

I just bought the kicks and I have one question and one remark. Is it better to surf launch/land with or without (can't find videos) and the idea of taking them out while in the ocean is nearly impossible at least brand new, as they are EXTREMELY tight fit. I'm sure in time they may eventually get loose. I am considering sanding them a bit

Great question! It really depends on how bad/big the surf is? I have launched with them on and almost broke the set-up. You could install them after the breakers once on the water!

Hi, how do you feel the stability with the hobie side kick + outboard? I have Adventure Island with suzuki outboard, but was wondering using the hobie sidekick for quicker beach launch. Thanks

The side kicks are good they have there ups and downs but not as good as the adventure island set up. With the adventure island set up you can stand up with ease and not really worry about going over board. With the side kick ama depending the conditions your more likely to take a swim if your standing up. They are both good depending the condition and what works best for you. I recommend the adventure island set up. I hope this helps you.

Your best bet is to purchase it used from Facebook market place, OfferUp, or Craigslist or something like that. Brand new will cost you about $800 from a Hobie dealer or kayak shop.
