I would’ve pedaled in reverse to help keep the fish in front and to also keep tension on the fish when the decide to run towards the boat.

Great video! Is it barbless up there? So frustrating losing big fish, way to stay at it and you're so focused. What a scoop with the net at the end!! I just had a reel pop off my rod while landing a big chinook last week down in Sacramento Ca. Caught it on all video as well, check it out when you get a chance.
