Kerr Lake in NC is my home lake. The Roanoke River feeds it and is home to the NC state record blue catfish at 127lbs. I have fished Kerr Lake and Lake Gaston. Big cats are in both.

Years ago when I was a teenager, I went down to the bank at Indian Lake, Oh. Found a family with a teenage daughter. I went back to my cabin and got my gear and went back to the Lake to join in. I was trying to talk with the teenage girl but kept catching fish. I kept trying different bait and kept catching fish. Finally I put the filter of a cigarette on my hook. Brought in the biggest Cannel Cat. This time I didn't put out my hook. I wanted to concentrate on this girl. We went to the Amusement Park the next evening. They were their for a two week vacation. Had a lot of fun with this family for the remaining of their vaccination!!

Back in the nineties, me and my ex father in law, went ot to pre fish a catfish tournament, and he casted a small bluegill out, set the rod down and picked up his other rod to bail and first rod almost jumped out of the boat. Grabbed it, got a 5 Lb. Channel cat that had a 6 inch muskie in it's stomach!! We told our muskie fisherman friends that our catfish eat their muskies!!!🤣🤣🤣

He use to use 40lb trilene. I like it's nice line but the Cajun matches his poles. Any kind of line over 30 is strong but the trilene 30 is what I use, I use spinning reels though Justin catches monsters
