Fishing Reel Review - After 2 Seasons in Saltwater

This Cadence fishing reel review is based on 2 seasons of hard saltwater use of my Cadence Fishing spinning reel. Not many fishing reel reviews do a look back after a long period of use. I share how my Cadence CS10 spinning reel has performed in saltwater and compare it to a brand new Cadence CS10 spinning reel in this review.

I have a cs5 that I use in the surt. I have it on an okuma celilo 8'6" steelhead rod. Amazon had a special on the reel down to $35. Along with the Amazon rewards cash back I got this reel for under $7. It's a quality reel and I've had no problems in salt. Very smooth and very strong. Lightweight. Screw-in handle and carbon fiber drag. Hope they start making larger sizes.

I have a CS4 (1000 size reel) that I use 3 times/week over the last 2 years for light saltwater fishing. Rinse off after every use. No problems. I enjoy maintenace and repair, but rule number 1 is "don't fix it if it isn't broke". These are great reels for the money.

lol! I destroyed my Penn liveliner when I tried to "maintain" it. With the rear drag complicating things, I could not get it back together!

Thks for sharing after 65 reels that I have field tested in hawaii documented on my KZbin channel the cs8 4k failed in 7 hrs...of course I fish in the surf...as my videos show..

Not to refute you , as I enjoy your videos . I bought a top of the line Cadence and it failed on day 3 of saltwater inlet fishing . I also rinsed it with FW and lubed it . It had several bearings fail .

I have both the 2000 and 3000 sizes. These were the 2000. Sadly, Cadence does not make a baitfeeder/liveliner.
