Really appreciate the warning staying up so long. Too many videos glamorize "The Joy of the Flood" without seriously warning of potential consequences. Stay safe, great paddling!

one last word. In Duke forest river right is a 60' cliff where the creek makes a left turn. aprox 20 years ago when my son was 8 i was fishing there and turned around and at 8 years old he climbed that vertical wall and was at the top. Little did I know at the time he would become today an Army Ranger and has saved Americans overseas. I think it is things like that that has helped him excel at being a Ranger. He canoes and kayaks as well . Awesome video Pete.

There are so many unnecessary risk involved with paddling a river in this state. Its so easy to get pinned. Glad everyone made it safely.
@RiverKingsKayak2 ай бұрын
Yes, exponentially more risks involved.

Watched last night and again now. Excellent video and looking forward to a possible high low comparison video. Also cool to see a canoe in there. Robeson Creek is another one with similar visuals and feel, but more class 2. Would be cool to see that one, but you’d probably need to be dropped off at the top rather than park at the top.

That looked like a wild & fun time! Little off the subject, but what are your thoughts on purchasing a eddyline for rivers like the Buffalo, Current, or James River? Will the thermaform hold up to bumps on rocks?
@RiverKingsKayak2 ай бұрын
Eddyline kayaks are really good. They seem to hold up pretty well!

That was exciting. I know Duke Forest pretty well having hiked it about four times a year for the last thirty years, but I could not tell exactly where you were along the river until you took out at Erwin Rd. Where did you put in? I'd like to see a video of a run where the river is still runnable, but you can see the rapids more clearly.

Thanks snotpu! I did a comparison video on just that...
