It was really cool to see people who had never been out on a kayak face the fear and overcome age, size, ego and ability.

While we had hopes of up close encounters with whales, it turned out to be a day of facing fear and accepting challenges. And the sea turtle!

Jenn has had terrible luck with underwater cameras she got a new DJI Action camera and it worked like a charm. She did some snorkeling on the big island of Hawaii and it’s pretty spectacular too.

Very beautiful underwater video, especially seeing the turtle. Our family snorkled in Maui before and it really is a great place for snorkeling.

Jenn also did some snorkeling on the big Island and she got some great footage there. Your thoughts on the turtle’s front flipper?
@hikingoutdoorfamily8 ай бұрын
@@welltravelledlife To me it looked like it wasn't totally paralyzed, but it didn't seem to be able to move the right flipper as much as the left. It seemed like it could still swim through the water pretty well.

That’s exactly what Jenn thought. It was either really good at compensating (old injury) or it was learning quickly.

Bit of a change of scenery from the snow capped mountains in Norway to Hawaii. ( I've changed my channel name from OmaFarAway: this being more appropriate I felt) It's a beautiful world we live in. Happy there is KZbin to visit from my chair. I've not been nor will visit the USA due to time and the need to visit New Zealand and Australia regularly. Europe is my backyard- and that's large enough for me. Do so enjoy traveling with others though. Loving snorkeling with you - passive though that may be 🤣🤪! Glad you are made aware of the coral and how to snorkel and kayak safely. Lovely video and beautiful images. Have a great week. 🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿🚣🏻♀

I agree. You ARE a Dutch Kiwi. Your heritage and experience has given you such a global awareness and a multicultural perspective. I think the channel name is so fitting - though I have to admit, there’s something really lyrical about Oma Far Away. In the next episode from the Big Island of Hawaii, I went snorkeling again and saw some amazing creatures! You’ll be glad you’re in an armchair instead of the water!
