Dear Ali, I’m so proud of you and being your 4th cousin here in Australia. Well done all three of you. That was a fantastic and awesome achievement. Your Abuelo Juan Carlo would have been so proud of you. (Roberto and Bev Raffo)

Trip of a lifetime. Excellent planning and the video is nicely put together. I'm heading up to Anglesey for a couple of days paddling. That's enough adventure for me.

I've gone 180mph on US Interstates on motorcycle more times than I can remember, I've averaged 140mph all night, every night all summer in a pack of 50 bikes, but kayaking in practically open ocean takes balls, if ya ask me. Nice!

And here I was (at age 64) thinking that the 18 km paddle in my Necky Elaho from Sailors Bay (Middle Harbour) to the Pyrmont Bridge (Sydney Harbour) was a something of an adventure to plan. 😁😆 A great inspiration team, thank you.

Great movie. I bought the lime Seaward from you Aiden. It's great to see it crossing the Bass strait. One day I will do it myself .

I am a sea kayaker myself. Unfortunately, here, in my home, in Russia, white-water kayaking is much more popular. Rodeo and slalom. Of those who go on long water trips, few have good boats, most go on some kind of slow shit. Those who have it do not know the rowing technique. Those who know it don't have time, because the fucking job and the family take it all away. That's why I train and travel mostly alone. Sometimes someone comes with me, who can handle my mileage. 40-kilometer crossings are a good indicator. In 7 hours, though, it's pretty slow, with your kayaks, but I got a lot of pleasure watching you. Maybe I'll go explore this area too. The approaches to shores are good. Beaches and not such killer waves. I'll do. You're cool, I would go with people like you.. Thanks for the movie! P.S. Respect to the wise grandfather-instructor, it's a pleasure to look at him.

Nice one!! Two of us did it early Jan 23 but going the other way, dodging the steady easterlies. Coffee every day for us, was pretty well non negotiable. Got across to Royden in 8 days, then as many rest days as you wanted after that. Brought back good memories of weather watching, and making those Crossing days! I even read that Gunns Limited book on Royden!! We stayed well clear of that bed though.....

It is my sincerely held belief, and long time sea kayaking standard, that one must have coffee not only EVERY day, but twice a day to boot. Great adventure, thank you for sharing it!

Terrific video, well narrated, and edited and thoroughly enjoyable. I consider myself a confident and reasonably skillful sea kayaker but the thought of a bass strait crossing scares me. Not just the logistics, but the long crossings with no land in sight and the vagaries of weather. Cannot believe you caught up with a legend in Les Allen....Wow. You guys are amazing. A trip that will stay with you forever. Thanks so much for sharing your journey. I totally enjoyed watching.
