Just an FYI: where you had the tight squeeze there are now three trees down completely blocking the river. You have to portage around them through the woods, and that was a harder portage than going around Cortner Dam. So if anyone is thinking about floating this stretch of the Duck, just be aware you'll have to make two tough portages. It about wore this old man out! Slept like a baby that night!

The Duck River is the most biologically diverse river in the USA. The Duck River is also the longest river in TN. If you go there please do not litter and keep the river beautiful.

Why will TWRA not clean that area up by the dam? It's sad, the young woman drowned there a few years ago, and all TWRA does is put a sign up and says, "go around"

I'm thinking about hitting that stretch of water this weekend. Looks like the dam will be dumping at 170. I have no frame of reference for that water. Is that gonna be fishable?

That's the exact number when I did this trip! It was 170 during this video, that is the perfect level! I wouldn't suggest trying to do this stretch of River any faster

You should try noodling. I bet there are big catfish in therre. The River had tons and tons o muscles that filter the river. Where exactly did you put in?

Absolutely! The water levels are low and you should be able to portage with ease.

Or if the fellow that lives right on that dam had any heart, would personally keep the area clean for what happened right in front of his house. I just don't get it I guess.
