Planning a visit or moving to Mexico? Check out the Mexico Travel Journal amzn.to/3nTOSJO The Mexico Travel Journal is a small Journal Notebook I created for people planning to spend time in Mexico. More than just a journal notebook, the Mexico Travel Journal contains important information on travelling in Mexico like Tourist Card Requirements and limitations, Entering Mexico by Land and Driving Tips, as well as important Safety Tips. The Journal section contains a daily planner and a daily notes page with enough space for travel of up to 45 days. The Mexico Travel Journal also a valuable spanish phrase section with over 250 commonly used phrases to help you in your journey. Since Mexico is a country that uses the Metric system, I've also included several Metric to Imperial conversion charts for easy reference.

It is a great place to get out for the day or the Kayak Club has memberships and programs available. Mucho gracias.

You certainly had lots of company out on the water. And you smart playing it safe about the intense sun . But there isn’t much peace and quiet. Thanks 🇨🇦👍

I agree but also paddled where I saw the other paddlers go. I figured there must be a reason the headed out that way. I also think that at least one boat was keeping an eye on me, just because I was new there of course. There are other quieter areas of the lake I'm sure. I'd compare this experience like visiting other inner city canoe clubs like we have in areas like Toronto or Burlington. Although, even saying that, I think Queretaro has a bit more of a peaceful feel and much more birdlife.

I enjoyed your kayak tour of the lake Jason. It's a nice opportunity too for you to start building a network of local contacts and friends. You get the water and the people at the same time!

Yes, absolutely! There's always something nice about the community of people who gather at a canoe/kayak club.

You worked that kayak paddle like a champ!! I’m a kayaker since the beginning if my paddling career for the last 15 years. This past summer I tried my hand at canoeing at a friend of mine’s camp up in maine and I felt line a fish outta water trying to paddle a canoe around. My body was like “Hey! What are we doin here?”😁 Our muscle memory is so funny sometimes. The paddles were really long so I’m wondering if they were too long for me. Im 5.10. These paddles came up to my chin easily. My shoulders were making weird noises too! Sucks gettin old!😁 Good to see ya back out on the agua mi amigo! Hasta Luego!

Mucho gracias! Yeah, you know I'm usually using a canoe paddle but have a bit of double blade experience. I noticed a few things I can do to improve my technique but that's ok. There's always somewhere to improve. The main thing was getting out on the water and this place, the club Kayak Queretaro has so many different boats to choose from. It was easy to go for a paddle.

Beautiful lake! I'm a novice bird watcher, you probably already know what you were looking at but out of curiosity I looked up the first white birds you saw on the trees in the water, Great Egrets, the pelicans are American White Pelicans, the black & yellow bird is a Yellow-headed Blackbird, and you were correct on the Cormorants.

Hello there. I really enjoyed your video. How fun to get out on the water and enjoy all that beautiful scenery and interesting birds. Did you find out the names of all those birds? The food looked delicious and great company. I am enjoying seeing your adventures.
@TrailguidePictures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I'm just looking into the bird species and will be posting some of the photos on my instagram and facebook with what I've found. Egrets, Herons, Pelicans, Flycatchers, Blackbirds and more. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos, its been fun being here and sharing the story.

You must admit it’s not as nice as Algonquin Park. But no bugs is a nice touch. 👍🇨🇦
@TrailguidePictures2 жыл бұрын
Well, Canadians are very fortunate to have so much land with water access (not just Algonquin). I can't compare the two in that way because it's a completely different part of North America. What I can say is that I've seen more unique bird species out on Lake Santa Catalina compared to what I saw this summer in Algonquin. If I was to compare that aspect Queretaro would win. Of course, I love what we have in Canada and I'll always look forward to a mutli day canoe trip.

Thanks for the video! We love Kayaking and were wondering if it was a thing there. Do you feel like you have to wear a mask in Queretaro? They are (thankfully) lifting mandates in parts of the world and we don't want to feel obligated to wear a mask or have a passport to live.
@TrailguidePictures2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. Yes, kayaking is available and there is the possibility to canoe or kayak in a couple other locations nearby if you have the equipment. Regarding masking, each state in Mexico has different rules for social distancing. In Queretaro and especially Santiago de Queretaro (where I'm most familiar) there are rules in place similar to other well managed cities. For example, when entering a restaurant your temperature is checked, you sanitize your hands and you wear a mask. Once at your table you can remove your mask. When you get up from the table to use the washroom or to leave you wear your mask. Most locals where the mask even in outdoor areas. The mask needs to be worn properly covering your mouth and nose. Visitors to the are need to respect the local community rules.
