Practice leaning into the wave hitting you Jonny! Head down and brace, quickly. More practice. Also...keep that heartbeat low. Heel hook into the kayak. Better yet learn the reentry and roll. Its so easy. Great video. I really liked all of it!!

Low brace to hold/brace/steady a boat in a tippy situation and to easily recover from a surprise tilt of up to at least 45 degrees. It is the most underrated and undermentioned yet essential stroke in sea kayaking after an efficient forward paddling stroke. A very high degree of excellence in the low brace and having trained and practiced it until it's entirely on automatic reflex will prevent almost all accidental capsizes out in the real thing. I guarantee. ⚓🙂

Where the heck was the camera mounted? looks like it was chest high? Well you clearly need more roll practice.Rescues are exhausting . And really more bracing practice even more. I also notice you start with greenland paddle then switch to one of those funny spoon paddles. WHY? Looks like a nice place to paddle I am jealous. Keep up the good work.

I don't see the reason for the capsizes. The seas seemed small, were you rounding a headland and getting reflected chop, is the boat really narrow or are you too heavy for the boat (reducing its stability), is the paddle unfamiliar?

I thought the same

Not enough comments! Good video how water catch you and over u go. Punching out is no joy in conditions. Touch to get back in a key hole solo. Any who, great team rescue. We all need a tow pal.

can add stabilizer which do not touch water surface(litter bit higher than water surface). avoid rolling and not affect kayak speed

You really should practice rolling. And rolling. And rolling. Until it's as familiar to you as breathing. Can save your life.

He needs to practice his high brace first. As soon as he feels unstable he reacts by going into the setup position for the roll, thereby ensuring the capsize. The second time he doesn't get the roll and has to swim. Far better not to capsize in the first place by bracing when he feels his stability going.
