Kayaking The Harpeth! - Harpeth River State Park - Nashville, TN

The Harpeth River State Park covers almost 40 miles along the Harpeth River. There are 10 access points to put in/take out all along the west side of Nashville, TN. Our plan is to kayak the entire stretch (not all at once). We started off by doing two legs for about 10 miles. We started at Highway 100, went past Coley Davis (right by our house), and ended up taking out at Newsom Mill. It was our first solo trip with our own equipment. I somehow managed to flip over on this Class 1 river (read: easiest, no skill required). I'm positive it requires great skill to be able to do that!?! Special...this one is!

You have the Duck River (much bigger river) down that direction. Lot's of kayaking on the Harpeth and Duck. We had fun at Henry Horton kayaking on that river (with state park ranger guide). kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHXdaH17ZdeLjZI

I saw your recent FB post about kayaking. You are a pro. I appreciate the offer and might take you up on it. Since this trip I've read enough that I've scared myself almost to death about different water hazards (strainers, undercuts, etc.). I definitely don't take things lightly (even on these little class ones).
