Kayaks in storm, a day of fishing tournament turned to nightmare

7th January 2023, kayak fishing tournament day, it was Rainy and cloudy since morning but things went really hairy around 1:30pm when it suddenly turned into 50mph winds and heavy rain. Many kayaks flipped multiple times, some crashed on rocks and some ended up stranded far off. Lucky escape for some of us.

Bro, good to see you managed to get back to shore, my kayak was capsized by the wave, luckily i was already near the shore. I have the same kayak as yours.

Very sorry to hear that brother. I hope you had your gear tied up, when i was reaching shore i also prepared to capsize and removed my go pro and put it inside hatch because big surf was breaking at beach. Luckily i survived i lowered my seat tried to balance on the big waves, it would have been a sirfing video if i had the go pro on that time 😂

@@FishingAdventuresDubai beach surf is way bigger than in the deeper part. After i removed my mirage drive that is the time when my kayak was capsized. All my gears are leashed, broke 1 rod on the butt part. Some jigs were lost but that is okay. What is important is we managed to come back safe.

There was children's sailing boats competition also at the launch spot. They were busy rescuing children. After that they came for kayakers. It's ok kayakers are adults and a tough lot.
