The lighting setup that you use for yourself is really gorgeous too! Did anything change in the setup between your "Save Time Editing Your Portrait Photography by Doing These Things" video and this one? They're both beautiful in subtly different ways, just wanted to see if you made tweaks. Thanks!

Thanks so much! I actually didn't tweak the lighting setup itself, but I often use a mix of LEDs and natural light. The natural light was lacking for this particular video as it was a really cloudy day so it's a lot less visible. 😅

To be clear wide angle lenses don't distort people's faces. Distortion is the result of the camera being super close to the subject. So you are right that using a longer focal length when showing details is wise, but that's because you can stand farther away not because the lens flattens the facial features. Wide angle lenses are great for portraits when you want to show what's around the person, the problem is when you try to fill the frame with the person's face which requires getting too close.
